The Best of the Best in DFW Family Law

I first came to Earl and Stacey during a very tough time in my life. The ex-wife had filed for a divorce and was seeking to take most of my business and assets, as well as our daughter. I called the Jackson Law Group on a Wednesday afternoon, and from the very first conversation I had with Stacey ove...r the phone, to my personal meeting with Earl, to my final trial, I was absolutely blown away by Earl's prowess in the field of family law. I struggled at first to properly describe my situation to Stacey, but she understood me perfectly and put my mind totally at ease, as she has been through similar situations herself. Earl is a true mountain of a man, both in his office and in the courtroom - he commands the space and works tirelessly for every client that comes through the door. Earl was very honest with me from the beginning. He said that he believed my case was strong, and that he would go to war for me. "Let's play," he said. While Mr. Jackson is not cheap, you get what you pay for a hundred times over. His billing practices are clear and specific, so I knew exactly what he was charging me and why. He was always on time, never late - despite what another reviewer has said. Best of all, after a contentious 8 months of litigation, Earl got me a great deal out of the divorce, and got me primary of my daughter. All of this despite my ex-wife's attorney playing some real BS throughout the whole thing. Earl doesn't get bogged down in the weeds - he remains focused and dedicated on everyone's file and made me feel like a priority even with multiple other clients on his plate at the same time. I can't give Earl enough praise - I credit my happiness today to his hard work, incredible legal knowledge, and strength in the courtroom. While he comes off as aggressive and harsh sometimes, this played greatly in my favor when he turned that around on the other side. Plus, he has a softer side too... he was always able to calm my nerves and reminded me how important it was to follow the court orders. All in all, Earl is your man. Big southern drawl, unconventional office, no-holds-barred, incredible attorney. Thanks a million times, Earl and Stacey.

Best decision I’ve made

I couldn’t be happier with the decision of hiring Earl and Stacey & the whole staff for one of the most difficult times in my life. Just when I thought everything was lost and didn’t know what my next step would be I went in for a consultation and little did I know my life will change for the bette...r . Earl talked to me with the truth and made me understand just how difficult the situation was going to be in the journey of fighting for my kids. Stacey was there 100% of the time no matter how silly the question was she always had an answer and helpful tips to get me through this difficult time. After a year and a half of fighting for my kids this mama can say Earl and Stacey made that happen thanks again I couldn’t be happier.

Nothing as promised

I would never use this attorney or his “office” again. Nothing they promised or advised was done. There was very little contact or follow up at all. I wasn’t notified of hearings or provided any updates without having to chase them down. He was unprofessional and late to court. Hiring him had no impa...ct on the result of my case. Far too expensive for nothing

Interesting - who is this person. The staff and I are trying to figure it out. They are anonymous - oh, okay. First, I am never late to court. Period. Never. No contact - really? Every call logged and returned. Every email/text message/after hour call. Notification of hearings - that's built into our case management system, automatically. Just read our other reviews. So, who is this person - well, there is one. Somebody we have been carrying for a long time, someone who was supposed to make payments on their outstanding bill. An minimum payment each month, but they didn't do it. Interesting - on the 23rd we sent this person notice that they were going to have to make some arrangement on their outstanding bill or get out of the case. So, I'm thinking - this is retribution. Request for payment, same day negative Avvo review. Okay.

Highly Recommend

Our experience with Earl and Stacey was great. We needed help fast! We hired an awful attorney who totally took advantage of us and a lot of our money. Stacey stumbled across our story and immediately took charge and got us in the office fast! We met and hired them on Monday at 1pm with a Tuesday 9am... court date set! It was also in a county far away and they agreed to travel for us. I sat in the corner of his office while he stood behind his giant desk ferociously typing away on one computer, reading something on another, hollaring “STACEY GET IN HERE!”, doling out orders to his partner, answering phones to contact opposing counsel, and demanding papers. It was like a scene from a movie. I sat there in awe, crouched in a chair gripping my evidence binder. He is a mountain of a man with a deep Southern drawl that is both charming but also commands every attention in the room. I knew he was a man that would get things done. He was passionate about us and we’d only just met. He’d pause in the middle of barking orders to turn to me and totally soften and ask me a quick question. It was kindness we really needed in a time we had been kicked badly. At the end of it all he sat down and said, “We gonna learn her. She won’t get away with this.” And I almost cried. We’d been beaten up for so long. We had court the next day and what was supposed to be a simple TRO hearing was treated like a trial. Witnesses were brought and evidence presented. It lasted hours. Earl’s partner filed a last minute piece of paper requesting custody be changed. The judge heard everything and then said she would give her ruling. We had custody by Thursday. Custody was switched from mother to father during a TRO hearing after the school year started. That is almost unheard of. But this team got it done. One of the happiest days of my entire life. It’s been 2 1/2 years and all four kids are doing great. It’s my firm belief that God exercised his mighty power through this law firm and place my kids exactly where they were supposed to be.

Made too many mistakes

I hired Earl to fight for custody of my daughter. I paid him $5000.00. I had already been fighting for my daughter for almost 2 years with another attorney. We had won with the associate judge but my other attorney became overly confadant and was not prepared for the actual judge and we lost on the a...ppeal. I fired him and hired Earl because he was recommended to me and he claimed to know the judge. Earl works out of an apartment complex he owns. His office is terrible, disorganized, smoke filled, and falling apart. The first mistake made was Earl's office did not send notification to the other party for the court hearing. I spent hours going over our case with Earl on Saturday then we all showed up including the people we had subpoenaed and the other party was a no show because they never received notification. Then he rescheduled another hearing for three weeks later. Which is too short of a notice for the other party so again we all showed up and the judge ruled in favor of the other party. So then the case was rescheduled for months later. The judge had ordered mediation. Earl said we weren't going to comply with the order for mediation because he knew my ex wasn't going to be reasonable. Then Earl promised to not charge me anything else because he messed up on my case and he would take me for a jury trial because the judge was being biased and said little girl's should be with their mother. My ex-girlfriend had a probono lawyer that started playing games to drain me of funds in order to win. He sent out a discovery after the case had now been going on for 3 years now with lots of indepth questions. I told Earl that my other lawyer had sent her a discovery years ago that they never answered. He claimed it was answered until I had to put it in his face. Mean while his paralegal sent me a list of questions she needed me to answer and told me she could answer the rest with the documentation I had already provided. Her answers were terrible, so terrible when my ex's laywer filed against me for failure to answer discovery I was fined! Then after the fact Earl said he should have taken her to court first because she never answered my discovery from years ago. Her attorney had been sending Earl requests for mediation and Earl had not been responding to any of their requests. So again her attorney filed against me for not complying with the judge's orders for mediation. We get infront of the associate judge, the one I had orginally won with, so she knew the case very well and said I am not going to force mediation because I know they are not going to agree. Then all of a sudden Earl said he wanted mediation. So I was ordered to pay not only her Probono lawyer fees but also the entire mediation cost! Earl had decided he did not want to follow through on his promise to take me to a jury trial. He said I was costing him too much money and he felt I could afford to pay him more. He said he would go to mediation with me and if I wanted to go to court then I had to pay him more. In mediation Earl pushed me to settle. I did not get more time with my daughter like I had asked for and I promised to help pay for her private school if she went full time so I could pick her up at the school and not deal with my crazy ex. Earl did not get the part about my daughter being in school full time in the order. It just stated I would pay for her private school. He promised I could go home and read over the orders and sign the next day. When I saw the problem with the school I messaged him and told him I didn't agree with the orders and it needed to be fixed. His office forged my signature and gave it to the judge to be signed as the orders. I had already sent $10,000 with my other lawyer and $5000 on Earl I was completely broke and he knew I had no more money to fight the crap he had done to me. I would NEVER recommend Earl Jackson to anymore. I know my story sounds crazy but it is totally 100% true.

We received "discovery" from our opposing counsel on June 28, 2014. We immediately forwarded the discovery to our client, this reviewer, with a letter telling him what we needed and how to help us answer the discovery. He ignored the discovery, he ignored our repeated telephone calls, he ignored the letter. Without his assistance, we could not answer the discovery. In August, he finally telephones our office. Says he has been on "vacation." Then said he wasn't going to answer the document request. Oh, my. i thought he was totally serious about his child. I had bought his story all in. Turns out - it was about the child support. Not paying any child support. And guess what else, he had a "side" business. A home theater installation business. Nobody knew anything about it. Well, until he accidentally sent us an email from the that account. That's how we found it, then found his website, and then found his profile for the side business - on the profile he claimed that he was making $125,000 per year off of that business. What? So, I'm carrying this guy - not getting paid. I'm thinking, I have a guy who just wants to be a good dad. I'm willing to carry this him. Then . . . he's making $65k on his regular employment and $125,000 out of his home theater installation business. Couldn't believe it. What a patsy I was - conned. Turns out the guy is a total piece of work. Trust me - he signed his Mediated Settlement Agreement. Got a great deal. I then withdrew from the case - I'm out. After me, multiple lawyers came and went. Now he represents himself. Recently filed a Motion to Modify to reduce his child support. His baby Momma countered with a Motion to Enforce. Both are prose.
