Employment and Labor 95%

I primarily represent employees, including employees misclassified as independent contractors, who are not paid all wages owed by employers pursuant to various laws, such as state overtime wage laws and the federal overtime wage law ("FLSA"). I also represent employees who do not get proper 60 days' advance written notice of a mass layoff or plant closing per the federal WARN Act. I also handle other employment cases, such as USERRA, ADA and FMLA.

Great Employment Lawyer

Allen is working diligently to pursue justice in my case. He is a very strong advocate of equal rights for women. He is very knowledgeable and very committed to his his practice and clients.

Helpful, compassionate, thorough

I consulted with and referred several people to Allen regarding commission status for several employees of a nationwide company with a local office. He was very thorough and understood the problems these people were dealing with management. Not sure of the final outcome as I am no longer associated... with the company.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
