James Owen Crewse

James Crewse is an AV Preeminent® Rated Dallas Fort Worth business and trial lawyer with a reputation for achieving outstanding results without breaking the bank.  After gaining more than a decade of valuable experience at a large Dallas law firm and a Dallas litigation boutique where he was a partner, James founded Crewse Law Firm with the intent of offering more personalized attention to each client, maximizing the firm’s capabilities, technology and efficiency under a reduced footprint, and having the ability to spend more time with his family. 

James has litigated numerous complex and high-stakes business, employment and intellectual property disputes, among others, including business divorce and partnership disputes, enforcement and defense of covenants not to compete and non-solicitation agreements, breach of contract and unpaid account claims, claims alleging torts such as fraud, misappropriation and use of trade secrets, negligence, and deceptive trade practices, and claims seeking injunctive relief. 

Utilizing his experience from hundreds of business litigation cases and disputes, James also provides business and outside general counsel services to small and medium size businesses in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

James has represented a wide variety of clients, including small and large business, business owners and executives, high-net worth individuals, startups, investors, consumers, partners and partnerships, entrepreneurs, construction companies and contractors, manufacturers, material suppliers, condominium associations, transportation and e-commerce companies, and national and regional banks and investment companies, among others.

Prior to entering private practice, James was a judicial clerk, serving as a briefing attorney for Justice John Sharp Anderson of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas.  While completing his law degree, Mr. Crewse separately served as a judicial intern at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals for Justice Richard Edelman and former Texas Supreme Court Justice Scott Brister.

Personal Interest:  Outside of practicing law, James enjoys playing and watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
