One Of The Best Attorneys I've Ever Worked With! And my case was minor. I wish he could help me in Maine, with a major case now

We took on a huge corporation for "Constructive Termination" where the damages were minimal - my being part-time. And we resolved the case very quickly. I moved to Maine, and have run into a much bigger, age discrimination problem... I wish he was here to help - to make-up for the minor one in Texas......

Does nothing

I have contacted Mr. O’Kelly in regards to my case numerous times but he does not respond. He threatened to drop my case for absolutely no reason but I am aware how difficult it is for an attorney to fire a client. He does not follow through, he drops the ball, and misses deadlines on a consistent ba...sis. I have had to do the work myself: Contacting the labor board and doing the work HE should be doing. He already missed the deadline for a response and said he would have his assistant, Susan, follow up with the appropriate channels; However, he has said this many times and NOTHING EVER GETS DONE.

My Attorney was like a Box of Chocolates…

If it were left to Forrest Gump to describe my attorney, he wouldn’t be incorrect in attesting that, “…you never know what you’re gonna get,” with regard to Mr. O’Kelley. Some days he was friendly, jovial, and approachable, however, some days he was unnecessarily hostile and bull-like for no reason. ...The fact that I could read his emotions through his expressions - facial, bodily, and even written - should have been a red flag that he was a mediocre attorney at best, as any good attorney has at the very least developed a stearn demeanor and a poker face. Some days he seemed to remember details about me and my wrongful termination suit which alleged discriminatory actions against an executive at a private corporation, details that should be difficult to forget. Other days, he couldn’t even remember my face, let alone my name (LITERALLY!). Ultimately, because of a disagreement over negotiating tactics during which I had denied his suggestion to offer an even lower figure to opposing counsel, and suggested instead that we offer a higher number or at least stood our ground, he threatened to dismiss me as his client, something that he led me to believe would be easily done (I was completely unaware of all the hoops that he would need to jump through to “fire” me as a client). He ultimately led me to settle my case for far less than I deserved, and far less than our “final offer,” all because he was too lazy to enter into discovery and litigation. After being railroaded by a Private Texas Corporation, I was railroaded by Mr. O’Kelley, too. That is, when he could remember who I was or that I was even one of his clients. I would suggest finding another attorney interested in pursuing what is right.
