Criminal Fraudulent Practices

My husband started his Social Security disability case with this firm. However, they quickly demonstrated how his case would be treated by ignoring our requests for communication repeatedly. When we finally received communication from the firm, the office manager was extremely unprofessional. We disch...arged their services and went with another lawyer that would better represent our case. We have requested the letter from them stating that they have withdrawn from the case since the discharge, and it has not been provided, nor have we received our client file from them. 28 Texas Admin Code 152.6 states that they must provide this documentation and personal file 10 days after they were fired, it has long been past that deadline. Multiple requests have been made to obtain this document and they have yet to comply. Not providing this documentation is criminal and trying to take our money, if we win our case, after being fired is fraudulent.

Unprofessional

Mr Joel Elliott was hired in a divorce case after being recommended as one of the best in Canton. He turned out to be horrible. Being a male client, he told us he would do what was necessary to get a favorable settlement dealing with three small children. After being caught in the courthouse with the... opposing lawyer, slapping each other on the back and making jokes about the case, and then lieing about what he was doing, he was fired. It took over a month for him to deliver an itemized bill. He ensured he billed for almost every dollar’s worth of money that he had been paid in advance. He still has not reimbursed the remainder to this date. His staff was caught lieing about him being in and phone calls or emails were not returned. He is a prime example of why lawyers are thought badly of. Take your money and do nothing.

It is unfortunate that you made your claim anonymous. It is also to your benefit that attorney/client privilege prevents my office from telling our side of the story. Our office is open from 8am to 5:30pm, and you can always reach a live person. Additionally, any current client can schedule an appointment to meet with me or my legal assistants. No client or potential client is ever told that they will receive a favorable settlement. Some cases settle and some go to trial. Finally, every client that has a refund coming from my office receives their money. This is our standard practice weather the client chooses to use a different attorney in the middle of the case, they choose to represent themselves in the middle of the case, or our office completes the case.

Thank you Joel Elliott

I recently went through a difficult divorce. My first attorney did not do anything for me and the other side called all the shots. Finally, I discharged my attorney and hired Joel Elliott. I was amazed at the difference. He took charge and changed the direction of my case. He was very profession...al throughout the process, kept me informed, and advised me every step of the way. His office staff was very supportive and responsive. I felt like he was fair in his billing practices. My case resolved with a favorable outcome. My faith in lawyers and the judicial system has been restored. Thank you Joel Elliott.
