Tyler was simply the best! I truly felt like I had a friend helping me walk through my divorce. My wife and I found Tyler by pure luck. But I must say that this was the best luck we ever had. My wife and I were looking for help in the adoption of our Grandson. We had explored all the website listings and never found anyone that seemed the least bit interested. Then one day, after a brief pr...ayer, I happened to look for an attorney in the Wylie, TX area. We found a listing for William Tyler Edmondson and since it was just up the street a few blocks, we decided to call for an appointment. This was the best phone call we ever made. During our initial appointment with Tyler, he treated us as if he had known us all his life. My wife and I explained the circumstances and our limited financial resources (we are both disabled and live on a fixed, modest income). We informed Tyler that we were the permanent managing conservators of our Grandson and had been for nearly 14 years and that we received no support. That he was disallowed receiving Social Security benefits as my dependent since he was not adopted. After explaining all of our circumstances, Tyler never hesitated when he told us he wanted to help. He willingly accepted a retainer, that was below what we had been quoted from other attorney's. Through the entire process, Tyler communicated with my wife and I frequently, explaining how each step in the adoption worked. Once during the process, the father (my son) of our Grandson was incarcerated and was not willing to sign the relinquishment of his parental rights, which could possibly delay the adoption. Tyler made a visit to my son's place of incarceration. Tyler was able to calm my nerves and reassured me that everything would work out. And was he ever right. After explaining to the father what was in the best interest of our Grandson, he willingly agreed to signed the relinquishment of his paternal rights. Tyler was there for my wife and I each time we had a question or concern. Because we did not own a vehicle for transportation, he would often come by our home to meet and give us updates on the adoption. In my 62 years of life, even though I have not had many occasions to need an attorney, I have never had one that went that extra mile like we experienced with Tyler. A truly GREAT, trusting and knowledgeable attorney. An attorney that I would gladly recommend to anyone in need of legal services. If not for Tyler's caring attitude, willingness to help others who are less fortunate, my wife and I would not have been able to complete this adoption.
