Biography
Attorney Sonali Mehta Patnaik is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has practiced Immigration in Dallas since 2004. She has had substantial success in all levels of Immigration practice, from complicated applications before USCIS, AAO and U.S. Embassies abroad, to asylum, adjustment, and cancellation cases before the Immigration Court and appeals.
Sonali was born to immigrant parents in Miami, Florida, and is a first generation Indian American. With roots in India, England, and Kenya, her upbringing has given her a unique understanding of the goals and struggles of the immigrant family.
In 2008, she expanded her practice to include Estate Planning, to serve demand from satisfied immigration clients.
Sonali is a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, and a frequent “Know Your Rights” presenter at the Immigration Court in Dallas. She has also given her time to Dallas non-profits who aid immigrant communities, such as Mosaic Family Services, Chetna DFW and Catholic Charities Immigration Counseling Service.
