Assault - Dismissed

This past summer I was charged with assault by my ex-wife. I was notified of this through a citation I received in the mail. This charge was brought against me during the time my ex-wife and I were going through the divorce. Being that I have no criminal record, nor have I ever been arrested, this ...charge was very unsettling to me. I needed to start my search for a defense attorney. I conducted this search and found many lawyers and testimonials soliciting their services. This too was overwhelming....how do I know which lawyer to hire and defend me? I was impressed with the reviews and information I found on Paul Key. I hired Paul without a recommendation from anyone. I called Paul on the phone and explained to him my situation. He then offered to meet me on a Saturday in his office to start the process. We met that day and multiple times after that in preparation for my court date. Any time I needed to talk with Paul he provided me his availability and we scheduled to meet. He never canceled a meeting with me nor did I ever feel rushed while meeting with him. In fact, one of our meetings was hours in length. He listened to me and provided a lot of great information, possibilities and recommendations in handling my case. I was encouraged by his knowledge, experience, and confidence. My court date arrived. Paul went to the courthouse and represented me in my absence. My presence was not required. Thirty minutes after my scheduled time, I receive a text message from Paul saying my case was dismissed and “it’s over”. These were words I had been waiting to hear for months! Along with the text was a picture of the document signed by the judge showing the dismissal. What an instant feeling of joy and relief. As I told him, it felt like my birthday 6 times over. I was innocent of the charge and happy the prosecuting attorney and judge saw that I was. Paul was instrumental in helping my charge be dismissed. Paul immediately sent me a follow-up text shortly after asking if I could talk. As we talked, he remained informative and explained all the necessary next steps. A lot of my future was pending on this assault charge. I needed someone to really represent me during this very emotional time. I would hire Paul again and appreciated his genuine professionalism!

Mr. Paul Key has been a lifesaver! I would HIGHLY recommend him!

My experience with Mr. Paul Key was incredible. Mr. Key demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and concern, in regard to my case. He worked hard, and quickly to address each new development. An easy example of his concern for his clients, would be how he handled my bail. When it was s...et at an unfairly high amount, he quickly had it lowered substantially. I wouldn't have known any better, if I didn't have him there. It's things like this, where Mr. Key truly looks out for his clients, that you realize you're not just another client. He actually takes an interest, and is working to get you the best outcome possible in a given situation. Throughout the process, Mr. Key worked as my advocate, making sure that everything was being done to make this process as painless as possible. If things were moving slowly on the court's side, Mr. Key was in contact to make sure that I wasn't unnecessarily worried. What has impressed me the most with Mr. Key, is not just the professional and effective manner in which he handled my case, but the calming force he was in my life. When you know you have someone who will work his hardest to get you the best possible outcomes, and who has an impressive track record in doing just that, it makes the stress of legal trouble much easier to bear. As a full time student, when I got into some legal problems, I could see a black cloud hanging over the future of my education. Mr. Key, through his knowledge, experience, and hard work, was able to address those fears. Here I am today, with this ordeal almost completely behind me, and thanks to Mr. Key, it won't show up on my record. This means that my education will not be hindered, and I can move forward with my life, without the weight of a bad decision hanging over my head. I could not have asked for a better outcome to my case, and I owe that to Mr. Key. I obviously wouldn't want to have legal trouble again, but If I were to ever run into a problem, I can unquestionably say that my first phone call would be to Mr. Paul Key. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking legal counsel, and am thankful everyday that he was there for me when I needed help. - J.R.

"Paul is the type of lawyer who prosecutors hate to love. They hate him because he passionately defends his clients until he gets what he wants, but they love him because he does it with his wit and humor that makes it easy to give him what he wants. I am speaking as a former prosecutor who went against him for many years. Paul is a great lawyer."
