Even though the case was simple, Ms. Henderson was not prepared. Information that should have been researched prior to the hearing, we had to locate on the fly during the hearing. Which also resulted in not having the appropriate time to consider the full ramification of each decision. Years later ...I am still dealing with bad decisions made by my attorney during this hearing. In addition, my case was negatively affected due to several incidents of limited/poor communication before and after the hearing. Mellannise Henderson Love was recommended to my family by another family law attorney. She wasn't sure if Henderson Love could accept a civil suit against a school district but assured us she could refer us to the correct personnel. We hired Henderson Love not knowing she was accepting a case well ...beyond her level of expertise. Poor communication, misses deadlines, files documents late and not very organized. She proved to many people that had the opportunity to review my grievance with the State Bar of Texas as well as my law suit that she is a dishonest and incompetent lawyer. Because she did enough to get by I was not able to file a malpractice suit but it was proven that she provided inadequate service. Her behavior didn't warrant a sanction by the State Bar of Texas but they agreed she did not perform at a professional level. If you have a big civil suit please seek more experienced legal assistance because Henderson-Love is accepting cases beyond her level of expertise to make money.
