A Fathers Advocate: First and Foremost

Jon was one of four Attorney's that I interviewed during my seperation stage with my ex wife. I need to add that Jon was the last Attorney that I had to meet with. Upon meeting Jon, you are made to feel as though you are not alone in your situation. (Facing a certain nasty divorce with 2 young childr...en, I could not make a mistake on whom I selected to represent me and my children. Two hours before my first meeting-appointment with Jon, I was handed Divorce papers at my work. You can imagine the state of mind that I was in when I arrived to his office...) What stood out the most to me on my initial consultation is how much time Jon took to just listening to my issues and concerns. He genuinely cared about what I had to say and didn't attempt to over talk me or inject his opinion. At this point in my search, I had already met with 3 other highly regarded & recomended Divorce-Custody Attorney's. Jon's ability to listen and understand my situation, and then offer his advise on how we should proceed were the main reasons I secured Jon as my Attorney. That was the best decision I made, for myself and my children. Jon helped devlop action plans as well as a strategy for how we could move forward. I rated Jon as excellent on the review for all 4 subjects for good reason. He truly excelled in every facet of my divorce and custody battles. His knowledge and experience became very evident as we continued down the path of temporary orders, deposition, etc... Jon is highly regarded in the Courts system. Do not make the mistake of retaining an attorney who does not have years of experience in North Texas. Jon's strong relationship with the different Judge's, clerks and real court room experience/ knowledge of other-opposing attorney's was invaluable to me and my children. Jon earned this "Excellent" rating by going above and beyond what I could have expected from him. When I was at my lowest point in the divorce-custody process, Jon was the one person who kept reminding me WHY we are going through all of this stress-anger-emotional roller coaster. It was so that a good Dad such as I, can continue to be involved with his children on a daily basis and provide for their health, safety and well being. And we fought long and hard and won the best possible outcome for my children and myself. You may find other Attorney's who charge less $ per hour, but let me assure you that Jon is worth every dollar I spent with him and our case. And his accounting of time spent was precise and accurate. Thank you Jon for everything that you have done for me and my family. I am glad you are out there continuing to fight for Dads!!!

Thanks Jon, Your the Best!

I've heard good things about this attorney for Doug over at Father's for Equal Rights in Dallas where Jon has been volunteering for years. I was very pleased to find out all the good I heard was true. I called Jon's office on Doug's recommendation and got through on the first ring. I was totally... surprised how accessible Jon is with his clients. I explain the particular issue with my custody case and Jon immediately gave me advice over the phone and recommended I come visit him. He was extreme cordial and not at all pushy. In short, I would recommend Jon to anybody in the Dallas Fort Worth area that is going through a divorce or custody issue. I cannot say enough good things about Jon, the work he does, or the hours he puts in at Father's for Equal Rights. One happy Full Custody Dad!

Fully Probated Suspension issued in TX, 2003

updated on 06/04/2007

Fully probated suspension means an attorney is technically suspended but may still practice law. The State monitors the lawyer's activities during the suspension to make sure that he or she does not repeat the behavior.

Jon’s comment:

“This action resulted during a difficult personal time due to family medical issues about 10 years ago. I was distracted from the practice and did not have adequate staff for a brief period. Since that time I've ensured that the office is always properly staffed and I have more tightly controlled our case levels so that each client always receives prompt and direct service from me. No complaints or disciplinary actions have occurred since.”

Partially Probated Suspension issued in TX, 2002

updated on 03/21/2011

Partially Probated Suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. When the attorney returns to practice, he or she will be on probation, meaning the State monitors the attorney's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
