Robert Allen Thornton

From the initial consultation to the actual court appearance, Mr Thornton was always understanding, diligent, and advocating for my rights. I was struck by how he listened on our initial meeting and commiserated with my plight. It was the first time I had ever met with a lawyer, and I was somewhat sh...ocked that an actual human being sat across from me and listened to my tale of woe. That first meeting told me that I wanted him in my court, pardon the pun. He advised me of the law and what my obligations were for support. He looked in to the options that were available to me, and presented his information. I will probably regret not following his advice on some matters, but I stuck to my plan. He was always understanding, and a little incredulous at what I was giving away. There were times when our exchanges were testy, and he maintained his professionalism and courtesy. There was a document that I placed his name on, and he insisted that it be approved by another attorney that specialized in that type of document. This caused a delay in the proceedings, but it was at my insistence that we present all the documents at the court date. I admire the fact that it did imply that he stands behind his work, and documents filed with his name will be unassailable. The day we went to court was uneventful, as he indicated it would be. However, seeing the other lawyers in the court, I was grateful for my choice. Everyone that passes the bar is considered a lawyer, and they are more or less equally able to perform their duties. What sets them apart is who they are as a person, and how they relate to you. As much as is possible during a divorce, I can say that I enjoyed my communication with Mr Thornton.

Mr. Thornton did an excellent job of guiding me through the process of appealing a municipal court verdict. This can be a somewhat anxiety provoking experience for someone with no prior contact with the court system, and Mr. Thornton's calm demeanor and good advice went a long way to reassure me as ...the process unfolded. We obtained a positive outcome by proceeding in the manner he recommended, so I can only be pleased with his services.

Robert represented my son in a DWI case. He did an excellent job. The case was ultimately dismissed. I was very impressed with how he handled the overzealous prosecutor's office. He returned all of our phone calls. I also hired Mr. Thornton to represent me in a divorce. The case was handled ef...ficiently and the outcome was very good for me. I would highly recommend Mr. Thornton for any criminal or family case.
