From the initial consultation to the actual court appearance, Mr Thornton was always understanding, diligent, and advocating for my rights. I was struck by how he listened on our initial meeting and commiserated with my plight. There was a document that I placed his name on, and he insisted that it be approved by another attorney that specialized in that type of document. This caused a delay in the proceedings, but it was at my insistence that we present all the documents at the court date. I admire the fact that it did imply that he stands behind his work, and documents filed with his name will be unassailable. The day we went to court was uneventful, as he indicated it would be. However, seeing the other lawyers in the court, I was grateful for my choice. Everyone that passes the bar is considered a lawyer, and they are more or less equally able to perform their duties. What sets them apart is who they are as a person, and how they relate to you. As much as is possible during a divorce, I can say that I enjoyed my communication with Mr Thornton.
