Quincy Walter McKinney

I haven't had to deal with many lawyers in my life and I consider that a good thing. When it came to hiring one for our family's need I merely made a post on facebook for suggestions and McKinney's name was suggested several times. After our first meeting I knew Mr. Quincy McKinney was good at his jo...b. He was very honest and I believe that's why we hired him at first. You don't see that much or hear of it when lawyers are brought up. Because he was honest and told us what we had ahead of us wasn't easy but laid out what he can do it made our decision easier. We always knew what was going on. We were asked and advised on every decision which is very important before they done anything. Emails and calls were return much faster then I would have expected and am well pleased about that. Not only was Mr. McKinney well to deal with but I will have to give thumbs up to the help and assistants as well. I've spoke to them as much if not more then with the lawyer and they were always pleasant and helpful. Without going into details we've won our case and it was a very difficult and complicated one at that. Adoptions take awhile and can be ugly in some situations and we never had to worry about Mr. McKinney not being prepared for what can happen. He was well PREPARED and BRILLIANT!! To be honest, the other party weren't honest, friendly folks and it was a relief to sit back without doing the fighting and watch my lawyer do what I thought was the hard part. He swept the floor with them. That's what you want in a lawyer. You want one that can catch a deceiving person in their lies and make them squirm on the stand; on the other hand, cater to their client and make things easier for them. ;) I would highly recommend Mr. McKinney!!

I have had a divorce/alimony case that Quincy has been my attorney since 2013. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and knowlege that Quincy possesses, as well as his staff. We retained Mr. McKinney in 2013 to help with a *very* complex adoption/custody case that stemmed from parental abandonment in 2009. For the past 17 months Quincy has been amazing!! He was very patient through the legal process, explaining the law and our rights in such a way that it all made sense. ... Quincy was with us every step of the way through interrogatories, discovery, depositions, mediation, and finally on our day before the judge in December 2014. Not only did he provide exceptional legal counsel, but he was also there with support during what was an incredibly stressful time. He listened to everything we said and mapped a plan for success based on the most pertinent evidence that would fulfill the requirements of the law. He spoke with our witnesses at length so they would know what to expect during court; and in the days before our hearing, he took the time to make sure we were well prepared with what to expect as well. On the day of our hearing, he was incredibly prepared. He knew our case as it pertained to the law backward and forward. He gave emotional encouragement during what turned into a very long and mentally exhausting day, and during the hearing he presented cases to the judge that set precedence for the matter at hand. When all the evidence had been presented, when all the witnesses had been heard, and when closing arguments were all said and done, the end of the day brought closure and security for our family in an ordeal that had lasted way too long. In the end, Quincy helped us win the adoption – the judge ruled the evidence “clear and convincing” – and our son is safe. Not only was Quincy completely professional, but he was personal, too. We felt like we mattered to him as people, not just as another client paying a bill. When he heard the specifics of our case, he genuinely wanted to help. I think that’s pretty rare in an attorney but we found it refreshing and very reassuring. Quincy McKinney is definitely one of the good ones! Also, the ladies in the office were a dream to work with – they took every bit of paper evidence we provided (there was a LOT!) and organized it to create a succinct timeline of events. Katie and Kate are very kind and friendly. No matter what kind of situation you are going through, or how many questions you might have, they are always willing to help. We will be using McKinney and McKinney again when it’s time to draft our Will, and if we ever know of someone who needs a brilliant, compassionate attorney, we will be recommending Quincy McKinney!
