Aaron J. Allen graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in 1982 (BS), Louisiana State University School of Law in 1985 (JD), and Southern Methodist University in 1986 (MBA). He is a member of the Lafayette Parish and State Bar Associations.

Mr. Allen has represented clients with all kinds of severe and disabling injuries and has handled death cases. He has tried judge and jury cases and has handled cases at all levels in Louisiana courts, including city, district and appellate courts, and the Louisiana Supreme Court. He has tried cases to judges and juries in federal district courts as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. He has litigated motor vehicle, 18-wheeler, railroad crossing, and pedestrian accident cases.

Mr. Allen has handled cases involving industrial and workplace accidents, crane accidents, medical malpractice, and employment discrimination. He is experienced in handling accident cases occurring on or aboard offshore platforms and vessels, including supply, utility, crew, lift boat, and jackup vessels. He has tried Social Security Administration, Louisiana Workers’ Compensation, and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation cases. He was Co-City Attorney of the Lafayette City-Parish Government, focusing on police and fire department issues and the public bid process, from 1992 to 1993. He has also successfully defended clients charged with various crimes, including first degree murder, and has handled domestic cases, such as divorce, child custody, and support.
