Biography
Bill Cherbonnier is a New Orleans native who graduated from Tulane Law School and was admitted to practice law in 1973. For over 50 years he has represented individuals and helped them with their legal problems.
Bill is recognized by his peers in the fields of consumer law and bankruptcy. He was the Louisiana State Chairman of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), is a frequent lecturer in bankruptcy and debt collection issues, and has been honored by the New Orleans Pro Bono Project with its prestigious Distinguished Service Award for his legal work assisting post-Katrina victims of debt scavenger lawsuits.
Bill is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, Louisiana Federal District Courts, Louisiana Federal Bankruptcy Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
