Born and raised in Southeast Louisiana, I am a former U.S. Marine, Deputy Sheriff, and Special Agent in the U.S. Secret Service who knows what it means to fight for people. I received my law degree from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2003 graduating with honors in the top 10% of my law school class. While in law school, I received the LaNasa-Greco Academic Scholarship, the William L. Crowe, Sr. Scholar Award, and was a published member of the Loyola Law Review.
For the first two years after law school, I served as a Special Agent in the New Orleans Field Office of the U.S. Secret Service. As a Special Agent, my primary duties included investigation of illegal activities affecting the financial infrastructure of the country, and support of the Agency’s protective mission for the President and Vice President of the United States.
After my time with the Secret Service, I began practicing law. At first, I worked as an attorney in a large downtown firm representing various businesses and insurance companies in all types of matters. The value of my cases varied from a few thousand to several million dollars.
In 2011, I formed the Law Office of Keith L. Magness, LLC with the goal of providing outstanding legal services to individuals at a fair and reasonable price. I have a passion for representing people injured through the fault of others and focus my practice on assisting victims injured in auto, 18 wheeler, company vehicle, motorcycle, bus and fatal accidents. This focus has allowed me to become a “go-to-guy” for auto, truck and motorcycle accident claims resulting in my selection as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association – an honor extended solely to the most qualified attorneys from each state who demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, statute and public profile.
Likewise, in 2015, I was awarded the Premier 100 designation by the American Academy of Trial Attorneys. The Premier 100 designation is an honor bestowed on less than 1% of attorneys in the United States.
Additionally, I am a proud member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Top Trial Lawyers in America. Membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of their clients. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
Outside the practice of law, I enjoy spending downtime with my wife and three children (two boys and a girl), fishing, and travel. I am also a supporter of various healthcare charities including the Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer Societies. As a veteran, I am a proud member of the American Legion, a service organization for veterans.
Please take a moment to learn more about me, my practice and the fees I charge by visiting my website, . Admitted to practice law before all Louisiana state and Federal courts, I stand ready to fight for you if you have been injured as a result of someone else’s fault. When you are ready, feel free to contact me at or to schedule a free no obligation consultation. And remember, with my 30% contingency fee for auto accident cases, by hiring my law firm to handle your car, truck or motorcycle accident case, you keep more of YOUR compensation you deserve.

Best attorney I ever hired
I hired Keith Magness to settle a real estate case whereas the plaintiff wrongfully sued me for fraud. Although we had written proof that we fully disclosed all requested and required information the lawsuit went into action. The plaintiff wanted something else done for them after they purchased th...

I referred a past client to Mr. Magness last year on a real estate case. There was actually two other Attorney's involved in the lawsuit beside Mr. Magness. Mr. Magness did ALL of the leg work to prove his clients innocence. His knowledge of research and law was simply amazing to me. I would ...
"Keith is an excellent lawyer who goes above and beyond for his clients. He works hard to get the best possible results for his clients. Keith and his staff have the ability to handle any case (large or small) and I highly recommend them!"
"Keith knows his stuff and has been there in the trenches so he knows where his clients are coming from. Both smart, diligent and empathetic, Keith's attitude is always upbeat, positive and client focused. He is generous with his time and will not allow insurance companies to get away with anything. Look to Keith to get the fair compensation you deserve."
"Keith is both a gentleman and a scholar. He is a highly skilled advocate who is very dedicated to his clients. I have the utmost respect for him as an attorney and adversary."
"Keith is a caring and compassionate advocate for his clients and a true Southern gentleman. He tragically lost his mother in an accident and handled the case for his family before he was even a lawyer. That's how he knows what his clients are going through and why he takes care of them every step of the way. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing a good personal injury lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer. Keith is smart, aggressive, and well organized. He has built an outstanding personal injury practice on a strong foundation of powerful systems and cutting edge technology. His extensive experience as a Marine, Sheriff's Deputy, and Federal Agent shows."
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Magness is one of the most aggressive and detail-oriented attorneys I have ever worked with. He has the intelligence to find the best solution to his client's problems while also having the legal ability and courage to take the matter to trial. His drive and dedication is second to none."
"Keith is a great person and a very experienced lawyer. He understands and has implemented systems and technology to benefit and add value to the representation he provides to his clients."
"Keith is one of the few lawyers I would recommend cases to. His commitment to serving his clients effectively, efficiently, and thoughtfully is unsurpassed. Keith is not only hard-working, insightful, and tenacious. He's also exceptionally well-organized, which is why he's a formidable opponent. But Keith is also fair-minded and reasonable (no mindless "Rambo tactics" from him, which judge's despise anyway). Keith gets my highest praise and endorsement. Truly a credit to the profession, and certainly trusted by his very fortunate clients."
"Keith is a smart, experienced lawyer who recently left a large firm to start his own practice. I've followed the growth of Keith's practice, and he's very well-organized, and systematic. I know he applies those same techniques to his personal injury clients, and I have no doubt that it provides invaluable benefits to their cases."
"I endorse Keith. Highly respected in the legal community. A skilled lawyer with a strong reputation for client advocacy and dedication."
