I am the first and currently only Estate Planning Law Specialist certified in Nebraska by the American Bar Association accredited Estate Planning Law Specialist Board. Creating an effective estate plan is a process that begins with respect for you and listening carefully to you, and learning your objectives, concerns and aspirations. Then, we bring to bear a broad range of practical and professional legal knowledge and experiences to meet your objectives.
Estate planning always requires knowledge and experience in the law and drafting of Wills and trusts, estate and trust administration, and Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. In addition, estate planning and elder law counseling often requires thorough knowledge of laws relating to guardianships; conservatorships; long-term care insurance; Medicare and Medicaid; taxation of retirement accounts; ERISA retirement plan rights; business law for closely held businesses and limited liability companies; domestic relations; and creditors’ rights and asset protection.
To help you attain your objectives, we are proud to include in our practice Nebraska’s first and currently only Estate Planning Law Specialist certified by the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc. accredited by the American Bar Association, a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and a Creighton University School of Law Estate Planning Adjunct Professor. In addition, we maintain and improve our skills through membership in and focused continuing legal education through the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; WealthCounsel; ElderCounsel; the Omaha Estate Planning Council; the Nebraska Bar Association - Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section; and the Iowa Bar Association - Elder Law and Probate, Trust & Estate Planning Sections.
We look forward to meeting with you to listen and then sharing with you approaches to develop an understandable estate plan that will maintain your (and if you are marred, your spouse’s) financial security through your lifetimes and ensure the intended transfers of your property and assets at your deaths, while taking into consideration the unique circumstances of your family, your loved ones, and your assets. Ours is not a “one size fits all” or “law in a box” approach. We will treat you with respect to address your unique stories and situations.

Made the Difficult Understandble
We have second marriages and 3 families. The other attorneys made this seem so difficult to accomplish what we want. Dan made it understandable and helped put together the plan we want for ourselves and our families.
"Dan is an exceptional attorney whose practice combines terrific knowledge and analytical skills and exceptional client communication. Dan and I worked together on an estate plan for a client that had several technical considerations. Specifically, the clients had to balance a very large tax deferred plan, sustaining cash flow for the balance of their lives while achieving their charitable planning goals. Dan effectively walked the clients through several scenarios and explained it to them in a way that was understandable and effectively affirmed the clients' goals. Additionally, I have been in public speaking forums with Dan and his ability to illustrate real client situations that induces the public to take action is remarkable. Dan is also a part time professor at Creighton University and keeps up with new developments in the law. I consider it a privilege to work with him on matters and highly recommend his legal services to any prospective clients."
"I endorse Dan because he's the most creative estate planners I've ever met, finding unique and workable solutions to everyday and complex matters"
