Creating an effective estate plan is a process that begins with respect for you and listening carefully to you, and learning your objectives, concerns and aspirations. Then, we bring to bear a broad range of practical and professional legal knowledge and experiences to meet your objectives.
Estate planning always requires knowledge and experience in the law and drafting of Wills and trusts, estate and trust administration, and Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. In addition, estate planning and elder law counseling often requires thorough knowledge of laws relating to guardianships; conservatorships; long-term care insurance; Medicare and Medicaid; taxation of retirement accounts; ERISA retirement plan rights; business law for closely held businesses and limited liability companies; domestic relations; and creditors’ rights and asset protection.
To help you attain your objectives, we are proud to include in our practice Nebraska’s first and currently only Estate Planning Law Specialist certified by the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc. accredited by the American Bar Association, a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and a Creighton University School of Law Estate Planning Adjunct Professor. In addition, we maintain and improve our skills through membership in and focused continuing legal education through the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; WealthCounsel; ElderCounsel; the Omaha Estate Planning Council; the Nebraska Bar Association - Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section; and the Iowa Bar Association - Elder Law and Probate, Trust & Estate Planning Sections.

Margaret has a great way of making what seems complicated understandable. She does this with listening, patience and humor. Highly recommended.
"Marge is a great elder advocate when applying her knowledge of Elder law to protect her clients' interests. Marge does superior work in planning for her clients. Marge particularly stands out when it comes to protecting vulnerable adults against mental, verbal or financial abuse whether it is immediate family members or nonrelated unscrupulous individuals who attempt to "scam" unsuspecting elderly individuals. I had the privilege to work with Marge when I was working with a bank trust department and Marge was considering the bank as a potential successor trustee. Marge thoroughly considered all legal options to resolve protecting her client against a verbally and financially abusive relative. She communicated those options to her client in a very kind, but thorough manner. Marge very assertively took action and addressed the situation with the relative. Her advocacy was exceptional. I highly recommend her as an Elder Law attorney. Elderly clients will be well served!"
"I endorse Margaret as the most intelligent and client caring attorney I have ever met. Truly, she's a subject matter expert.."
