Tony A. Potter

I have to admit I was blown away by Mr. Potter from the first meeting I had with him. I had never met with an attorney who had the ability to take background of a custody case, immediately put it into an outline in their head and then articulate, on the spot, exactly how they were going to present t...he information to the judge in the courtroom, until I met Tony Potter. Not only that, but he could also explain, in a language I could understand, why he was going to do it that way. I was floored! Mr. Potter does not tell you what you want to hear, instead he will tell you, in a candid, calm, and understanding fashion, the truth. He will explain in every detail why, how, when, where, every finite detail no matter how many times you need to hear it until you are comfortable, understand and you are ready for the next step. His level of patience is to be out done by no one. One of my most favorite attributes of Mr. Potter is the fact that he always makes time for me, his client. He communicates with me, he doesn't hand his work off to someone else. He genuinely loves what he does, cares for his clients best interests, and wants to be sure both of you are consistently aligned on the case. He treats me with respect, and gets things done when he says he will. The professionalism, work ethic, and level of client care I have received from Tony Potter are above and beyond what I expected. I don’t believe I would be as comfortable with my decisions or the legal process in general without his help. I am confident and no longer second guess the path forward since I have hired Tony. I feel truly blessed that Mr. Potter is my attorney and can’t imagine using someone else for such a sensitive legal matter.

I contacted and hired Mr. Potter to complete a collaborative divorce process after my initial attorney continued to be disorganized and untimely in handling my case. From the time I consulted with Mr. Potter, he exceeded my expectations. He was thorough in his work and extremely responsive in answ...ering my questions and completing his legal responsibilities. I never had to wonder what was going on with our divorce process, as Mr. Potter kept me informed every step of the way (unlike the initial attorney I hired). He was always on time for meetings, always prepared, and didn't beat around the bush. If you want a lawyer you can depend on and have good contact with, I highly recommend Mr. Potter.

I know so many of these reviews speak to Tony being ethical. It's because he is so wholly ethical, and, sadly, many other attorneys in this field are not. Knowing you can implicitly trust your attorney, and especially in such a tumultuous time in life, gives great peace of mind. Tony conducts hims...elf and his business from a place of integrity and excellence. Not only does this translate to the aforementioned ethics, but it also means he has some really great standards in place. This applies to many things. He makes sure you understand the procedures and what’s coming next. He efficiently communicates with you and opposing counsel. He has so many of the documents that every case requires already prepared, waiting to be adjusted to your specifics (as much as each case is unique, the nature of the court system means we're all having to go through a lot of the same procedures and documents - related: if your case requires a parenting plan, his standard plan is a thing of beauty). He is unflappable, even in the face of blustery intimidation tactics (or, as he calls it, sabre rattling) from the other side and he’s not going to stoop to the same level just because they’re relentless about working from there. In my very first meeting with him, not only did I walk away knowing that he didn’t engage in fruitless raging, but he took my family as seriously as I did. A lot of that intimidation nonsense seems to come from a place of win-lose/trying to best the other attorney/opposition. My child was not something to be bested. I so appreciate that Tony made it clear my son’s well-being was as much a factor as having to hash out how I and the other parent in this case were going to have to agree how we were working together in his care going forward. Tony was an absolute godsend and I’m so grateful he took me on as a client. Because he is so efficient in communication and documentation, not only does it lead to quick resolution (or, as quick as possible, given you’re dealing with other parties), it means his time is well used on your case. Both of these things mean his billing is just as fair as his rates. While I’m hopeful people in my circle don’t find themselves in a position to require his services, I will gladly refer my loved ones to him and will continue to use his services if/when needed going forward.

I got Tony to help with my divorce after a friend recommended him. He was so easy to work with, always punctual and called when he said he would, always returned my emails quickly, and was very good at helping me understand the process and what would come next. He is honest, even told me that what I ...was requesting during the divorce wasn't fair to me and we could do better. He will fight for what you want and he treats you like a person, not a paycheck. Very knowledgeable about KS law. I would definitely go back to him with any issues.

Tony helped me finalize a divorce that was dragging out. During the entire process, he was available via phone, email, and/or face to face contact. He responded proficently within a couple hours of my contact, if not sooner. He knows the law and is highly respected in this profession. In addition to ...his professionalism and punctuality, Tony made me feel like a person and not just another number/client/paycheck. He genuinely cared about my concerns and respected me. I remember telling him, "this may seem minute to you but this is my life and my future at stake here". I trusted him with my future and he prevailed. Highly recommend Tony!!!
