Michael Richard-Tel Parrett

I was appointed Tel Parrett as my Public Defender in Lenexa Municipal Court for driving without insurance. As I am on a fixed income I filled out a form requested by the judge and proved qualified for representation by a Court appointed Public defender. This was a huge mistake. I asked to meet with... him before my court date and he blew me off by telling me he would "see me in court". At that court date he threw in front of me a Journal Entry of Conviction that indicated the Miranda Right of representation without cost but he had slipped in a $100 fee for him. He did absolutely NOTHING to defend in my case and charged me

absolutely HORR-I-BLE. If you enjoy being ignored by a public defender and having one that is a no show at your hearings & meetings with the DA, then this is the guy for you. Had I known that I did not necessary need a public defender for my case, I would have kicked this guy to the curb. An employee... from Deffenbaugh trash collection could have done a better job for me. And I had to pay full price for his "aid". Again, worst ever.
