Personable, intelligent and forward thinking service
I am looking forward to a long term relationship with Simon. I worked with him a few months ago to craft a simple lease purchase agreement for a piece of property that we held and Simon performed quite well. It was our discussions outside the agreement that I found most exciting, Simon's perspective, background and approach are well suited for anyone dealing with a start-up company, new venture, intellectual property matter or just looking for competent yet personal legal services. I highly recommend him and look forward to future projects with Simon.

Website Terms and License
We hired Simon to rewrite or website's terms and to help with our License Agreement. We are creative professionals and there is much misunderstanding how to license and protect creative work. Simon was extremely helpful. He researched and answered all our questions. The texts he wrote for our website are tailored to our case specifically. He went beyond what was requested and delivered perfectly on this project. We had wonderful communication and smooth working process. Overall we were really impressed with him and would hire him again for future projects.

Simon is extremely rude and bills for anything he can
I hired Simon to complete a Terms of service for us on Upwork which he got done within a reasonable time frame. I decided to hire him to send out a cease and desist letter to a company that was attacking us. This was his suggestion and he told me it would be completed ASAP since it was a time-sensitive matter. He told me it could get done within 2-3 hours. I ended up getting billed several hours more than we agreed and he didn't even finish the task. I asked him what the hold up was and he started making excuses as to why it was not completed, saying he was overloaded with other projects or with his kids. I noticed I was being charged $145/hour for him to respond to my messages asking for updates. This made no sense to me because he wasn't providing any sort of legal advice during these messages. I decided to pause our contract until the task was completed. He then sent me a very rude message stating I would need to resume the contract AND pay him for his time to respond to this very message. He wanted 30 minutes of his time to respond which would be $72..... He said I would need to pay him before any sort of work or communication would continue. I decided to fire him because this made no sense to me and I explained to him why. He responded saying lawyers don't work for free and consultation is part of his scope and to stop messaging him. So I ended up losing over $500 with no work done. I basically paid Simon $500 to respond to my messages asking for updates. While reviewing his work via screen capture, I noticed he charged me a full hour ($145) to reply to one of his other clients. I've worked with lawyers in the past and none of them charged me $145/hour to give simple updates and NONE of them charged me to work on other client's projects. I do not recommend using Simon. It ended up being a waste of time and money for me. I think he took on too many projects and thinks he is a high profile lawyer now.

Response from Simon Brody October 17, 2022
There are times when clients ask me to send Demand letters based on assurances of evidence they have to support the claims to be made. Sometimes the claims being made are not supported by any actual evidence. Some clients are unable to accept the limitation that claims being made in such a Demand letter must be supportable by the law and facts/evidence they have promised to provide. Requests that I just write a Demand letter supporting my clients assertions, when they are repeatedly asked to send supporting information, are not something the rules of professional responsibility. I apologize if, the interval where I awaited any factual support for this clients contention, was seen as delaying. This client was upset that I would not write the letter he wanted, I endured quite a bit of harassment from him, including threats that he would publish this complaint if I did not sign off on his unsubstantiated claims.
