High-level recap: The Kansas Bar Association referral services connected me with Jeff. Having worked closely with him for a little over two years now, I find him WONDERFUL to work with. Reliable and reasonably-priced.

A few years ago I mismanaged my finances and, despite having a well-paying job, I found myself in significant, unsecured debt. I was struck in a cycle of solely making the minimum payments each month and not making any real progress to being debt-free.
Jeff was patient and thorough in guiding me through evaluating my finance particulars, as well as educating me on the legal options for debt resolution. I was first approved for a Chapter 13 debt restructuring, on which I made payments until I became unemployed about 6 months ago.
Unable to secure new employment, my financial circumstances became such that I could no longer make the Chapter 13 payments as required. I shared my concerns with Jeff and he revisited my case.
Jeff was prompt to get back with me. With my job loss and reduced income, I decided to pursue Chapter 7. I knew that I wanted to retain Jeff as he had done such a great job with the initial motion a couple of years ago. He was fair on the fee and is leading me through the process at this time.
THANK YOU JEFF for being not only a great attorney, but a pleasant and kind human as well.
Highly experienced trial lawyer who puts clients first. When you hire me you can rest easy knowing that your case is in good hands and that you will receive the representation that you deserve. Licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, and handles cases throughout the entire Kansas City metro area, as well as all surrounding counties.

Hired him for bankruptcy
If you're nervous about filing like I was, then Jeffrey would be a excellent first step. He explained the whole process to me and made me feel at ease. Thank you!

He was a let down.
I hired him for family law because my ex was taking me back to court. He didn’t hand in evidence that was suppose to be entered costing me a lot of money plus my new parenting plan. Never got back with me when I called or email. He filed something on my behalf with the court & never followed up on it so when I figured that out it was to late for me to do anything else.I don’t think it’s right for lawyers to not do what they are suppose to do to help their clients out. This was one of my worse mistakes I have made.

AVVO RATING
7.7
(Very Good)
Avvo Rating
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
What determines Avvo Rating?
Experience & background
Years licensed, work experience, education
Legal community recognition
Peer endorsements, associations, awards
Legal thought leadership
Publications, speaking engagements
Discipline
Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
Sentencing guidelines call for 210-262 months, and I convinced the judge to give my client a downward variance, and the judge gave him only 90 months instead of the 210 months that the Government was asking for.
State v. SM
Initial offer--life in prison on murder--pled down to time served on involuntary manslaughter
State v. MB
Murder charge submitted to jury--NOT GUILTY on all counts
