Kathryn L. Dudley

I hired Kathy Dudley in 2015 to handle my divorce case. She acts very sincere and caring upon the initial consultation. Like many others that have written reviews, I thought because of her firms reputation she was the best money could buy. Well, that is the farthest thing from the case. Now, 3 ye...ars later, I still have not been granted a divorce. She doesn't return calls in a timely manner but "loves" to email. I even requested that she stops emailing but she said that's her firms policy. Of course emailing takes more time than having a verbal conversation so that's why she prefers to communicate that way. We parted ways several months ago and I filed a complaint with the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel against her. My total bills were $58,000 with her, and I am no closer to a divorce than the day I hired her in 2015. If you want to throw your money away, drive down Highway 70 and throw it out the window so you can at least get some enjoyment out of it. Notice, I am putting my first name on here because I am want everyone to know that I am not afraid to voice my opinion against the way she practices law. I was told by my new attorney they have people in there office that post good rating anonymously so people will use their firm and dilute the negative comments.

I hired Ms. Dudley for a custody case. After our initial consultation and paying my retainer, I never spoke with her again. She wouldn't return phone calls and it took her weeks to return emails. I ended up discussing the details of my case with her through email, she then asked a coworker to draw up... motions to submit to the court and the facts in the motions were all wrong. Ms. Dudley did not communicate the facts of the case to her coworker but she still charged me every cent for our email exchanges. I also had to ask for basic motions to be filed. She tooks no initiative at all. I had to search online what the next motions should be. I ended up firing her and hiring a new lawyer, I was afraid of losing my case because of her incompetence and lack of initiative. I hired her because I wanted the best ( I thought because she worked for a nice firm and was very expensive, thats she would be good) true, she is one of the higher priced lawyers but by far the worst that I've worked with. I hired a different lawyer and easily won my case.

Kathi was hired and was too busy with other things she had going on. We ended up settling for something that we weren't really ok with because of her lack of communication and her not really promoting things with the other attorney that we were needing assistance with. We also wasted a lot of money b...y her not timely completing things and then we double paid for things because of having to remind her to complete things for our case. Overall just very frustrated and she didn't do anything to help us in the grand scheme of things.

She is the lawyer on my case at present and feel she never keeps me informed on what is happening in my case unless I email or contact her, Very expensive and not worth what we have spent so far. Not caring at all about my case and my daughters future. Feel like she really does not put the effort for...th to work for what I want in my divorce. Forgets to forward things on and also forgets to mail me papers that she said I should have received. I think I should have picked a different lawyer but started out with Allison who I really liked but got passed to Kathy.
