Ann E. Bauer

Ann Bauer is a wonderful attorney to work with. She is very thoughtful and skilled. She always communicated with me in a very timely manner. Ann is also very witty and funny. Going through a divorce, especially with custody issues, is very difficult. Ann’s humor was actually very helpful from time to time. I was very lucky to have Ann as my attorneys.

Patient. Tolerant. Brilliant. Strategically-minded. Open-minded, willing to listen, learn and teach. Ann Bauer is just this attorney. Though I came to her confused and scared, she and her brilliant team empowered me as I fought in a legal battle I had never planned. As I watched and listened and ASKED A MILLION questions, Ann and her team were grounded, logical and explained the workings of the law. Ann fought in her gracious way for what was right. Choosing a legal team is not to be taken lightly. An assembled team of strong, smart, brave women proved to be more worthy than I could have dreamed or hoped for. Ann’s years of experience, compassion and her focus on the ultimate outcome worked to my benefit. She remains calm, yet strong in every situation. And when I needed to laugh, she knew how to lighten the mood. Ann’s team taught me to be strong, to stand up for myself and to ask for what I wanted could be done quietly, with grace…and a cape. We became Warriors together. They had their shields ready, their bracelets on, their capes at the ready and their boots ON THE GROUND….one step at a time. I wouldn’t be where I am today without A., H., P., and their entire team who worked tirelessly. For that, I will be forever grateful and will continue to wear my cape proudly, with MY boots on the ground (while I continue to reach for the stars).

From the moment I initially met with Ann she assured me that she would help me through each step of the divorce process. Although I didn't want the divorce she explained to me that once she got me across the bridge and I looked back that I would realize that it was for the best. My first thought was that's crazy and I'll never be okay with this but she was right. It is okay. She fought for me and my children and had our best interest at heart. Ann understood my emotions and my rights and worked a delicate balance for both. We had a very difficult attorney on the other side of the case and Ann was amazing at handling his demeanor and his personality throughout the entire process. Whenever it came time she wasn't afraid to stop the nonsense and interpret the law. She cared about me and my kids as people and wanted to set us up for success moving forward. Every conversation I had with her put me at ease and made me feel so much better. Ann made the worst experience in my life a very endurable situation.

I don't like to give bad reviews to professionals but I feel compelled to share my deep disappointment in Ann. You will find her extremely personable and willing to listen initially. That trait led me to hire her. Much to my chagrin, I found Ann weak in her ability to provide thoughtful strategy and mastery of the more complex legal situations. She and her staff have very high hourly rates and I quickly accumulated $7,000+ in fees through emails, copies of documents, and consultations that failed to be useful. I learned that being skilled in offering strategy is extremely important and Ann did not seem to possess this legal skill set. Ann offers lots of personality and empathy (hopefully real) but what I needed was knowledge in what the law says and a strategy in negotiating with opposing counsel. Ann seemed minimally prepared when she came into our consultation sessions. After I terminated with Ann and found another attorney, it was clear to me what was missing. I needed to know what the law said and I needed an attorney who knows negotiation and strategy. Unfortunately, I had to face my terror alone and was afraid to pick of the phone or computer because I knew "any" interaction would incur hundreds of dollars in legal fees.
