Support For The Father

My husband and l live in Kansas City and my husband’s children live with their mother in St. Louis. When it became necessary to redo the parenting plan, we needed an attorney that would be able to be a voice for us in the times when we could not be in St. Louis. Amy Cantor was recommended to us and w...e hired her sight unseen. As a matter of fact, it was almost a year after we hired her when we met her for the first time. Working with Amy (even from 4 hours away) made both my husband and me feel protected. She made sure that we understood all of the legal jargon and specifically explained the process that we needed to go through in order to make the changes that were needed. She reviewed all of the documents from the divorce settlement (a different attorney was used for the divorce) and asked lots of questions in order to get a full understanding of our situation. She helped us review all of our options and as a result, we were able to make decisions from a position of strength and not a position of reaction. It was very evident that she had our best interest at heart. Amy also protected our fee for her services. On several occasions, she recommended that we do research and compile data ourselves instead of charging us to do it. We appreciated the opportunity to not pay an attorney to do things that we could do ourselves. The end result was a parenting plan that we felt protected our interests as parents and gave us the flexibility that we needed to impact the lives of our kids long term and long distance. Two years later when communication my husband's ex became an issue, Amy assisted us in drafting a letter to reiterate the terms of our parenting plan. She again explained the legal process to us and made sure that we knew what to expect. We felt empowered to protect ourselves because Amy provided the education and counsel that we needed to make the hard choices. Divorce and co-parenting are not always easy. Amy helped us navigate our complex situation with knowledge and power. We know that her guidance was vital to us emerging from the case knowing that our best interest had been protected. We truly appreciate her professionalism and no nonsense approach to the law.

Child Custody Issues

I hired Amy for help regarding child custody issues. I felt completely helpless prior to speaking with her. Amy was always attentive, as well as answered all of my questions and concerns promptly. I can't thank her enough for her having mine and my child's best interests a priority. My case involved ...a great deal of issues that needed to be resolved. Amy managed to settle my case, giving the best outcome for my child.

Successful motion to modify child support

I sought out Amy Cantor to help me reduce my child support (filed motion to modify). She helped guide me through the process - set up conference meetings with the opposing attorney and assigned judge. We were thrown curve balls throughout the process, and Amy handled them very well, and ultimately ...my case went to trial. Once at trial, she was able to negotiate a significant reduction in child support. Her costs were very reasonable, she was well prepared, and I was very pleased with the results. I would recommend working with Amy on any family law issues/cases.
