He Dumped this divorce client over $500 payment

I retained Mr Quinn to defend me in my divorce. I had done campaign work for him and significant volunteer work for his then-partner, who wouldn't defend me on moral grounds because he didn't believe in divorce. There was abuse and a very large 6-digit executive salary and I'd been a mother primari...ly for almost 25 years. To say that I contributed to enabling my ex to get where he is is an understatement. First, the stipend for the separation which he negotiated was not enough to pay for the house, and he wouldn't fight for lifetime alimony for me. Second, he dropped me when I couldn't make a $500 payment, which he could easily have got from my ex, or from me if he'd gotten me a decent settlement. I had no representation consequently and my husband ran rip shod over me, lying about what he made, had and was getting, taking everything and making millions with it in a short time. I soon lost the home for my children, the ex bought something of the same value as soon as the divorce was final. I worked night and day to collect the retirement he deprived me of, and within 5 years I collapsed of multiple gland failure from which I've never recovered. He has a $2 million home, six cars, new wife, country club memberships and more than $5 million in the bank. Giving me, the mother of the children, a little help would've been the Christian thing to do, in my humble opinion.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
