David Frisse, a native of Highland, Illinois, is a graduate of Notre Dame University and the St. Louis University School of Law. He served as head of the Tax Litigation Division in the Illinois Attorney General’s Office before entering private practice in Illinois in 1979. In 1994 David founded Frisse & Brewster Law Offices, LLC, then based in Paris, Illinois, and Terre Haute, Indiana.
David’s focus is business and estate planning law, where his goal is to ensure that his clients give what they have, to whom they want, when they want, in the way they want. David feels he can best help his clients accomplish this by using a unique “team” approach, which engages the client and includes other professional financial and legal advisors in the process. Education, counseling, creative decision-making and family conversation culminates in a plan designed to protect what’s important to the client.
David is a member of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and Wealth Counsel. Providing support and continuing education, the members of these organizations share a practice commitment that respects the dignity of both their profession and their clients.
David lectures extensively and is a contributing-author of two books; Love, Money and Control: Reinventing Estate Planning and The Complete Guide to Estate Planning & Financial Planning in Turbulent Times. His affiliations, activities, memberships, continuing education and leadership roles both in his profession and within his community are considerable.
David is considered a local expert in Napoleonic history. He also and plays a mean blues guitar, and maintains a well-loved guitar collection that includes several late 1960s Gibson Les Paul models. Dave and his wife Doris live near Paris and are both lead singers of The Dave Frisse Band. They enjoy traveling, especially to the Southwest, and take part in the annual Joe Bonamassa blues cruise. Currently, their favorite place to travel is Indianapolis, where they visit their first grandchild.

"I endorse this lawyer. Dave has a fantastic combination of qualities that you want in an Estate Planning and Elder Law attorney. He is very smart and a very good lawyer. But he also brings the ability to see the bigger human aspect in the lives and needs of his clients, and does so well at combining the head and the heart - so necessary in those practice areas. An added plus is that Dave surrounds himself with good people, so working with his support team is a pleasure as well. Once you work with Dave, you know - he's one of the good guys!"
"I have known Dave Frisse for well over 10 years. During that time, I have been struck by Dave's caring, professional, and thoughtful demeanor. He would be the first attorney I would think of if I had a family member or friend who needed estate planning assistance in his area. In addition to his wide breadth of knowledge, Dave is an attorney with many outside interests, including a love of music and playing in a band, which makes him stand out from his peers. He is a pleasure to work with and I am pleased to offer my endorsement."

For more than a decade I have know Dave to be a highly ethical, moral person who cares deeply about his clients. Among his peers Dave is recognized as the expert's expert, yet he carries himself with such an easy going and unassuming manner that he is easy to approach and fun to engage.
