Kathleen Bailey

I was fortunate enough to have hired Ms. Bailey to represent and defend me in a complex family law case. It is important to note that I live in another state and the outcome of the case in IL would ultimately impact my family law case where I reside as it relates to jurisdiction (where the case will... be heard) for child custody and divorce. From the start, Ms. Bailey was professional, communicated clearly and effectively (i.e., as a speaker and listener), kept me informed, answered all my questions, and was well organized. She was very knowledgeable, resourceful, and provided great advice through the whole process which helped ease my mind. In addition, Ms. Bailey was compassionate and genuinely cared about me and my family. Ms. Bailey went above and beyond her expectations as an attorney as evidenced by meeting with me remotely on weekends so that I did not have to take off from work, meeting with me on Christmas day to help me prepare for court that was scheduled the day after Christmas, and even offering to pick me up from the airport when I flew in to IL on Christmas eve. At no time did I feel like I was rushed by Ms. Bailey or that she needed to get to her next client while meeting with her. Instead, Ms. Bailey was patient and took the necessary time to understand my unique situation so she could represent me properly. During the trial Ms. Bailey made sure that all the necessary paperwork was prepared (i.e., written materials were clear and presented in a logical manner) and submitted on time. She was a strong advocate and assertive in the courtroom. Ms. Bailey was able to successfully defend me in court through her thorough preparation, attention to detail, persuasive speaking, and her ability to adapt to changing situations that occurred during the trial. Overall, I am forever grateful to Ms. Bailey for her legal help and highly recommend her if you need someone to represent you.

Kathleen was my attorney in my initial divorce / custody case, but only after my first lawyer failed me in the temporary hearing. She came in midstream and helped me as a client identify what was worth fighting for and what a judge wouldn’t care about/what to not fight. Since getting primary custody... and sole legal custody of my children, she’s helped me with two key issues that have sent us back to court and she’s been so focused and great. My kids and I are forever grateful.

This lawyer took my ex-husband's case for modification. She shows no integrity or moral compass at ALL! My ex-husband beat me and phyically assaulted me several times, even strangling me (this has already been proven in court). She has had DIRECT CONTACT WITH MY CHILDREN VIA EMAIL, IN PERSON, and PHO...NE, which should not have been allowed at all by the judge and should have had to produce motions for such communication to put them in the middle and put them against the other parent creating PARENTAL ALIENATION and CONFLICT. She uses statements in court documents using accusatory language as if they are facts. And does not care about putting children in the middle of PETTY parental disputes. Children should not be forced to choose between their parents no matter their age unless under extreme circumstances. This is definately not appropriate conduct for any lawyer. She also allows my ex-husband to lie under oath. I hope she can live with herself knowing that she is helping a controlling narcissist continue abusing his ex-wife through trying to sabotage her relationship with the children she has raised since birth while he was an absent father, through finances and tying up all money with lawyers, emotional and verbal abuse as well. It is insane that people can actually get away with this conduct!

My child's father used Kathleen in our custody case, not only did he, his wife and the rest of his family lie under oath she allowed it to happen. She is a terrible lawyer, if I had pull in a county that I used to work in but not reside in anymore and if I had lied under oath I would have won my cas...e too. She didn't win the case for him due to being a good lawyer.
