I highly recommend O'Meara Law to anyone looking for legal representation. From the moment he picked up my call to the end of my trial, he was beyond empathetic, intentional, and strategic in his approach to getting me the best possible outcome. I thought I had a clear cut case against me and was ...ready to settle on less than ideal charges for an unwarranted arrest, but Mike O'Meara went out of his way to provide thoughtful legal guidance and tackle the trial head on. It took a while for me to see his vision, but I placed my trust in him and went through with the process and ended up being so happy I did. After nearly a year of waiting through extended court dates, we decided to take my case to trial. The result: all of my charges were completely DISMISSED. I was floored by Mike's attention to detail in preparation and his ability to litigate circles around the other attorneys. What felt like a lost cause turned into a complete win and every possible aspect of my case being respectfully shut down or utilized to the favor of my defense. With this being the first time I had ever been charged through the court of law, I was fascinated by the process and felt safe with Mike's guidance. He was the only lawyer to answer when I needed one in the middle of the night during my arrest and supportive until the end of the trial. I was not only able to keep my license, but have all charges, classes, court fees and traffic infractions cleared. The legal fees were extremely reasonable with all the time and energy he put into the work. Michael O’meara saved me from a world of trouble. Before I first contacted him, I had no idea what to expect from my tickets, how serious the offense really was, or what could even be done to help my case. I was lucky enough to stumble upon him from a simple Google search and thought I would at least... reach out to him after seeing outstanding reviews from hundreds of people and on multiple websites. The moment I called Michael, he clearly explained to me the circumstances I was involved in, how serious the offense was, and what needed to be done in order for me to take the next steps. I was pulled over on the highway for going 26-34 mph over the speed limit. The officer not only gave me a ticket for that, but added on 3 additional tickets (using left lane, not using turning signal, and following too closely to the car in front of me). Since 2014, the State of Illinois has unfortunately changed speeding of 25+ miles over the speed limit to be considered a CRIMINAL OFFENSE. I am a graduate student in a doctorate program who was coming home after a long week of hard work and studying with a 1 hour+ commute each way to and from school. Once Michael explained to me the severity of the speeding ticket, firstly, the conviction would make me a CRIMINAL and I would also lose my license for an indefinite amount of time, with the chance of serving jail time in addition to not being able to drive to continue my rigorous graduate program. This could have easily ruined my career and ability to participate in clinical rotations where criminal background checks are required. Throughout the entire process, Michael was very insightful, put things into laymen terms so that everything was easy to understand, and honestly gave me the reassurance I needed in a time of such distress. Michael worked hard to do everything in his power to look out for my best interests. Michael is clearly an experienced attorney, is honest and upfront about everything (not something you often feel when dealing with lawyers), and is clear and concise. If you are honest with him, follow his advice and direction, I feel confident that anyone can have the same great experience I did. Mike was able to not only get my other 3 tickets nullified by the judge, but was also able to reduce my aggravated speeding ticket (which would be a criminal offense) down to a petty offense (NOT a criminal offense, received my license back, and requirement to not receive another speeding ticket for 12 months). You can feel at ease after paying the flat rate fee of $1500 as Michael will continue to work hard for you if additional court dates or behind the scenes work are needed without ANY other additional charging. With other lawyers, you may end up paying MUCH more than what you initially expected. In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend Michael O’meara as an attorney, a friend, and a person you can trust. -DT

On a late Chicago summer evening, I was charged with illegal lane usage, driving below the minimum speed limit, and driving under the influence. I was arrested on a DUI, aggravated speeding, and illegal lane usage at 1AM in the morning on a Sunday. After extensive research and numerous calls with Lawyers I chose Mr. O'Meara as my lawyer. He was one of the few lawyers to respond to my calls on a Sunday. I appreciated Mr. O'Meara's professio...nalism and honesty. He was very clear on my options and possible outcomes. If you are looking for a lawyer to promise you that you will be exonerated of all charges, Mr. O'Meara is not the attorney you are looking for. He understands the law enough to provide you with the options that will result in the best outcome whether or not this is what you want to hear. I faced a possible 3rd DUI (1 out-of-state 18 years ago and another in-state 20 years ago). He did not sugarcoat the possible outcomes and clearly outlined my options in defending my case. He also understands the process enough that I was able to drive during the entire duration of the case. In the end, Mr. O'Meara was able to get the DUI dismissed and supervision for the traffic violations. It was a very unpleasant experience, however I believe I had the right lawyer providing me with the best information possible. I would definitely recommend Mr. O'Meara to anyone in need of a DUI lawyer.

As a first time DUI offender I had zero clue what to do. The evidence against me was very strong. Based on Internet research I conducted before seeking an attorney I concluded that I was facing 1 year in jail, fines of $2,500, loss of my license for a full year, along with... other various penalties and fines. I turned to friends who "knew a guy who knew a guy" to find representation. I met with 2 different lawyers, showed them both my charges, and told them my story. Neither one of those lawyers had any faith in my case. They basically told me "You screwed up and here is how we're going to try to deal with it, BTW, you're screwed." At that point a close friend reached out to me telling me about Mike O'Meara and how good of job Mike has done representing him varying from different drug and alcohol offenses. I didn't know any better and I didn't have anything to lose. So my friend gave me Mike's number and I gave him a call figuring I would hear the same thing I was already told twice before. I couldn't possibly have been more wrong about that. I told Mike my story and all the various facts that lead to my arrest. After he heard the same story I told to the other two lawyers, Mike seemed to be very ambitious about my case and started to explain to me how we can fight it. It was only a couple days later that I was in the court house with him filing papers and requests to contest my arrest. While all this was happening he fully explained to me every single step of the process so I could fully understand everything that was happening, he damn near made me feel like I was a lawyer in training. Even after he explained A-Z to me he still asked "do you have any questions? Contact me anytime you want, I welcome questions." He has always kept true to his word. Believe me when I say that I have pushed the limits with calling him and asking him things he had previously explained to me, he had no problem repeating himself to me at any time of any day. With being charged with a DUI, there are many different things you have to do ON YOUR OWN outside of the courtroom. As a first time offender, I wasn't familiar or sure about any of the tasks that I had to complete on my own. Luckily, Mike was able to help and coach me every step of the way outside of the courtroom b/c he is that good of a man and genuinely cares. I swear to God he acted like my daddy trying to teach me to walk. I'll never forget the court date of my sentencing, with how bad the evidence was against me, I was sure I was going to jail and paying astronomical fines that I couldn't afford even if I sold my soul to the Devil. When I was face to face with the judge, not only did Mike keep me out of jail but he saved me from a conviction (I was not convicted for my DUI), and negotiated my fines to be the bare minimum. As I'm typing this, I no longer require a lawyer to pursue and complete the court mandated agreements of my case. I have paid Mike in full and he has no further obligation to me. Having said that, I've been having problems with trying to fulfill my minimum court mandated requirements. I contacted Mike about my concerns and problems with going through this process and he is still willing to fight for me and help me out even though I no longer have any financial obligation to him. He is a very loyal and dedicated man. If any member of my family or friends were caught under the same circumstances that I was, I would tell them to hire Mike O'Meara. Remember the saying "Knowledge is POWER!!!" When you hire Mike O'Meara, he has that knowledge and he brings that POWER into that courtroom. I hope to God that I never have to go through his again. If I do then Mike is the first person I would contact. He is also the first person I would recommend to any family member or friend.
