DO NOT HIRE

Let me add my review to the list of horrible reviews this attorney already has. This was, by far, one of the worst experiences I have ever had with an attorney. Actually THE WORST. I paid approximately $2,200 for representation and honestly feel like I got very little in return. I hired this attorney... through LegalShield expecting an attorney who would actually fight for me, prepare my case, and advocate for me in court. Instead, I felt completely let down. When I needed my attorney to speak up and make sure my side of the story was heard, I felt like she barely advocated for me at all. The preparation for my case was extremely disappointing. The Motion of Intent to Move that was filed on my behalf was only one page, and I felt it completely failed to adequately explain my circumstances, my reasons for moving, or why I believed the move was in my child’s best interest. For the amount of money I paid, I expected much more effort and preparation. What made the situation even more frustrating was discovering that the attorney does not live in Chicago. I was not aware of that when I hired her, yet I was still responsible for paying her travel expenses. If I’m paying thousands of dollars for an attorney, I expect transparency about where that attorney is located and what additional expenses I will be responsible for. My biggest issue is that I never felt like my case mattered to her. I felt like I had to do the work of pushing my own case forward while paying her to represent me. I needed someone who was prepared, aggressive, communicative, and willing to stand up for me in court. That is not the experience I had. $2,200 is a significant amount of money, and I genuinely regret spending it on this representation. I expected professional legal advocacy and attention to detail. Instead, I left the experience feeling frustrated, disappointed, and like I had not received the representation I paid for. If you are considering hiring this attorney, ask very detailed questions before signing anything: Where is the attorney actually located? Will you be charged travel expenses? Exactly what will they do to prepare your case? How much time will they spend reviewing your situation? And most importantly, will they actually advocate for you in court? Based on my experience, I would not recommend this attorney. I would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring her to do their homework and carefully consider other options before handing over thousands of dollars.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
