stay far away!

Mr. O'Brien was a supposed friend of myself & my husband (for 20 some years) very long story short, after several calls, texts, etc to him he would randomly text my husband or call & give us a line of bull & since he was a "friend" we kept believing him. I finally told my husband something has got to... be wrong this car accident where someone totaled my suv & almost killed me, has taken 4 years now! I tried calling & would never get a return call. Finally one day his office # was no good & would not answer his cell so I went on line to look for a good # & found these reviews!! I have since went through hell having to collect everything all over again from doctors, etc & get a new attorney. The new attorney showed us that Mr. O'Brien had called for continuance after continuance on my case!! When he knew we were waiting to end this stressful situation! He never even told us he lost his license or let us know we needed a new attorney. The new attorney luckily worked fast to save my case, which was almost lost because of all the continuances! Some friend this guy turned out to be! And to think we had him in our wedding just sickens me!

Disgrace To The Legal Profession

How this attorney ever got his license is a mystery to me. Lazy, condescending, evasive and hostile are only a smattering of the words I can use to describe this attorney. I see that he has gotten his license suspended recently, that's good. Hopefully this suspension stays permanent!!!

Unprofessional lack of performance

My husband and I hired O'Brien to help us with a family matter. Unlike others we had to pay 1500 even before he would start working on our case. We came up with the money but never received any evidence thus far that he was actually working on the case. He sent us blank form to sign and return. After... numerous calls and numerous emails that went unnoticed we began to look at our options and reported him to the Illinois Board of Lawyers. They apparently know him very well many cases in front of ours. Long story short he will not provide you with any services. What he will do is take your money, talk to you abusively and his secretary she's just as bad. Go somewhere else save yourself a lot of bs.

BEWARE

I was a paying client of this attorney. He did things in court and did not disclose. Did not sent documents to us when he filed. He collected funds from us after he removed himself from the case and put a non experienced attorney in his place and did not notify us! We almost lost our home of a 1/...4 century! BEWARE!!!!

VERY unprofessional

Mr. O'Brien was retained by us for BK. He took $500 for a retainer and said it would only take 6 months for it to all be over with. It is now almost 2 years later!!! Our BK was never filed, even after the state required online exam....which was supposedly the hold up! Now creditors are garnishi...ng my husbands wages!!!!!!!!!!!!! After dozens of calls to Mr. O'Brien NONE were answered!! We are now forced to hire a new attorney and start all over again with the BK!!!!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! Will definatly be reported!
