stay far away!

Mr. O'Brien was a supposed friend of myself & my husband (for 20 some years) very long story short, after several calls, texts, etc to him he would randomly text my husband or call & give us a line of bull & since he was a "friend" we kept believing him. I finally told my husband something has got to... be wrong this car accident where someone totaled my suv & almost killed me, has taken 4 years now! I tried calling & would never get a return call. Finally one day his office # was no good & would not answer his cell so I went on line to look for a good # & found these reviews!! I have since went through hell having to collect everything all over again from doctors, etc & get a new attorney. The new attorney showed us that Mr. O'Brien had called for continuance after continuance on my case!! When he knew we were waiting to end this stressful situation! He never even told us he lost his license or let us know we needed a new attorney. The new attorney luckily worked fast to save my case, which was almost lost because of all the continuances! Some friend this guy turned out to be! And to think we had him in our wedding just sickens me!

Review

When you call the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission and give a lawyer's name you should immediately know he is trouble when they know his reputation by heart. Following an accident involving my wife, we employed Vincent O'Brien to file a lawsuit for damages against the party... we believed to be at fault. Mr. O'Brien agreed to take the case for 33.3% of any award, plus court fees. Mr. O'Brien had the citation thrown out of court and won an award. Shortly after the award was declared, Mr. O'Brien negotiated on our behalf to settle any liens placed on the award by doctors and insurance companies that we owed as a result of treatment from the accident. We received our share in the form of a check written out of Mr. O'Brien's account upon signing the award check. Mr. O'Brien was then, according to our agreement, to those with liens on the award their shares. We have been contacted over the past year on regular occasion by those agencies. Both state that they never received the payments Mr. O'Brien negotiated with them directly. Both also state Mr. O'Brien is no longer responding to them. As a result, my wife's credit rating has taken a hit for the unpaid debts.
