Morgan Given is a family law attorney and mediator known for her strategic, compassionate, and highly organized approach to family law. Morgan draws on her extensive litigation experience to advise clients on how to avoid protracted court battles while obtaining excellent outcomes, often through mediation and strategic negotiation. She has experience with cases big and small, actively representing high-net-worth business owners and individuals facing complex family law matters involving divorce, child custody, relocation, and prenuptial agreements.
As an experienced divorce mediator, Morgan is passionate about helping clients resolve disputes outside of court. Acting as a neutral third party, Morgan’s approach to mediation is to serve as an empathetic “project manager” in order to organize mediation into an efficient and streamlined process. This saves clients an enormous amount of money and time and also allows them to create a customized settlement agreement uniquely tailored to their specific family needs.
Morgan is trained in Collaborative Divorce, a process which allows her clients to stay out of court and resolve even complex disputes through strategic negotiation and the support of a team of legal, financial, and mental health professionals.
Morgan has represented clients throughout every stage of the divorce process and is committed to helping clients navigate the divorce process in a way that preserves both their emotional and financial wellbeing. She recognizes the importance of not only serving as a lawyer but also as a counselor to her clients. As her many client reviews attest, she puts her clients’ needs first, and clients find her confidence and expertise deeply reassuring. Clients praise Morgan for her responsiveness, her organized guidance, and her ability to “set the tone” for the divorce through her savvy approach to negotiation.
Morgan has exclusively practiced in the area of family law. She began her career in Washington, DC, representing and advocating for victims of domestic abuse as a law fellow at the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project. Morgan joined the Taradash Group in December 2014, inspired by Dean Taradash’s personalized and practical approach to family law. In 2019, she was elevated to partner, and in 2023, became a named partner at Taradash Given.
Morgan is the Legal Chair of the Chicago chapter of the Amicable Divorce Network and a member of Collaborative Divorce Illinois. Her recent publications include a chapter in “Divorce Amicably: Your Roadmap to Resolution.”
She received her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. In law school, she was recognized as a Thurgood Marshall Scholar and was also a recipient of the George Washington Presidential Merit Scholarship and Dean’s Pro Bono Service Award. She graduated from DePaul University magna cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and English.
Morgan’s Chicago roots go deep. She was born in Rogers Park and worked her first job as a server at the iconic Ed Debevic’s. She now lives in Oak Park with her husband and children.
Morgan serves clients throughout Cook, DuPage, Lake, and Will counties.

Honest and super efficient!!!
Morgan delivered on what she said would happen. Now I did have a pretty easy case, no kids, no property, no shared anything so from when I went into her office until the final court date, Morgan made the process feel as if I didn't have to move a finger. Seemless and effortless. I was afraid of my ex...

"Morgan and I were counsels on opposite sides of a case recently. In a field where the list of substandard, inattentive and nonresponsive attorneys grows by the week, I was extremely impressed with her quick response time and attention to detail, while advocating for her client's interests without being unreasonable. I absolutely endorse Morgan."
"I met Ms. Given in law school and we worked together at an organization for a year as attorneys doing domestic violence and custody law. She is honest, hard working, and I endorse her."

"Morgan is an intelligent and zealous advocate. She is very knowledgeable in all aspects of family law."
