Mike was referred to us by our realtor and I was heartened by looking on yelp to find so many positive reviews. After our closing, I am happy to add to them! We talked with several attorneys because as first time home buyers we were unsure what qualities to look for in a real estate attorney and ...we had gotten several recommendations from friends as well. Mike was not particularly verbose during our first interaction but extremely efficient and competent. Our experience with him was really seamless. He always sent very detailed and communicative e-mails with explicit instructions about what we needed to do. We had a seamless closing and really understood (as best we could) all the nuances of what went into the various transactions, including the Chicago-specific aspects of home buying in the city. What's more, after our closing, Mike let us know about a project he was starting in which he donated $50 of his fee from our transaction to a Chicago-based charity of our choice. I thought this was an incredible gesture and a great way to think of the communities we all live in at a time when we are buying homes in the city. I'm sure we'll be using Mike for all of our real estate home buying legal needs in the future and would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone. Mike is calm, kind, efficient and competent. My wife and I were purchasing a home and was referred to Mike by our realtor. From the get go, Mike was very helpful. The most important thing for us was receiving a to-do list from Mike with deadlines to keep us on track. Mike was very thorough with his email communications which we preferred to ...stay organized. When it came to day of close we had an issue that needed quick attention and Mike was able to step in and get it taken care of so that it did not hinder our close. During the close (which was long and boring) Mike was able to walk us through the papers and comment on what was important while injecting some levity to make the time pass more quickly. Post close Mike has remained in touch to wrap up any loose ends. This is a huge benefit especially since we paid a one time fee up front.
