Welcome. Thank you for considering me. I hope you find this information helpful. Living with a spinal cord injury and spinal cord surgery has given me a unique perspective on spinal cord cases. Additionally, I have spent a lot of time researching and litigating brain injury cases. I also have considerable experience with herniated disc, vertebral fracture, facet joint and failed back surgery cases.
I have experience in putting together all aspects of automotive roof crush cases. I have personal knowledge of many of the key documents from the manufacturers. I understand the concept of occupant space protection, commonly referred to as the survival zone, and that no one should ever die or be injured from roof crush. I commonly refer to NASCAR where a vehicle may flip several times and land on its roof and there's no roof crush and the driver steps out uninjured. With this knowledge, roof crush injuries are unacceptable.
I have been involved in prosecuting several seven figure cases, including one I worked up from scratch by myself and settled for over five million. Additionally, I've handled cases that involved spending hundreds of hours in prep due to the complex nature of the issues and the thousands of pages of discovery produced. Besides trial work, I have had success in the appellate court.
I'm a member of many groups that provide me with cutting edge information about trial practice and the areas of law and medicine I routinely use.
Recently I was nominated and accepted into The ATLA, a group comprised of the top 100 trial lawyers from each state. This is an invitation only organization and it was with great pride that I accepted.
I am a member of the million dollar advocates and multimillion dollar advocates organizations.
I am a member of the Amicus committee of the Illinois Trial Lawyers. This committee submits briefs on issues of importance to the Illinois Supreme Court.
Also, like all good lawyers, I use a mac. You should too.

Since 2007 when my case started until it ended in 2012, Michael has been such an important part of my life. He and his partners at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates fought a long hard fight and won. If I had any questions, problems or just needed to talk, Michael was a phone call away. During my trial...

It is with great pleasure and honor that I write this review for an attorney that I feel stands above all others. Several years ago I was involved in an automobile accident. It was my good fortune to be introduced to Michael Carter Jr. and to subsequently have him as my attorney. For those of you who...
"Michael is a very hard working and creative trial attorney. These qualities serve his clients well in the courtroom."
"I endorse this lawyer. Michael is an outstanding trial lawyer, Warrior, and friend. If I had a serious personal-injury claim, I would call Michael."
"I endorse Michael Carter. I have worked with a lot of good lawyers over the last decade, but Michael is one of the best. His ability to step into the middle of a very complex situation and immediately identify the important issues and come up with a winning strategy is unmatched."
"I endorse this lawyer. Michael and I were classmates in Law School, and I have respected him since we first met more than 15 years ago. I have referred cases to Michael, and he has always provided superb service and obtained results which have exceeded my client's expectations. He is a skilled attorney with a passion for his clients, and I would not hesitate to refer a case to him."
"I endorse Michael Carter Jr. Having had the privilege of working with him on numerous matters during the past few years I know him to be an exceptionally intelligent and skilled attorney with an extraordinary passion in his representation of his clients. He is justifiably highly regarded among his peers, and I continue to gain valuable insight into the art of litigation from him."
"I partnered with Michael on a trial in the summer of 2009. He was so good it was intimidating. He knew the law backwards and forwards and did a phenomenal job in front of the jury. Thanks to him the jury gave just compensation to our client."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. Michael is an aggressive advocate for his clients with a track record of success. He is passionate about the practice of law and an extremely gifted advocate. He excels in complex legal and medical matters. He is the kind of lawyer lawyers hire."
