Extremely Poor Lawyer

I hired Mr. Kay. I wish I never would have hired him in the first place. First, his drafting skills for a lawyer are extremely poor. Second, he never followed through on the tasks he said he would. He never had a clear strategy for any issues in the case that needed to be dealt with or an overall str...ategy for the case in its entirety. He never asked for my objectives, or what I was looking for in a result. Save yourself a lot of aggravation, and money. Hire someone else. Divorce is difficult enough without an incompetent lawyer.

As a practicing Family Law Attorney for the past 30 years, I recognize that the divorce process is an extraordinarily emotional time, now more so than ever during the pandemic. Unfortunately, some people experiencing this heightened level of distress lash out at others including their attorney. I take pride in doing the utmost to empathize with, listen to, and address all of my client’s emotional needs and concerns. However, I am not always successful in doing so. As for my professional qualifications, I suggest that potential clients take a look at all of my online reviews.

Personable and Professional

Going through a divorce is one of the most trying and emotional times in your life. John was like a trusted friend. He gave me straight talk but then explained what usually happens in certain scenarios, which was comforting for me. He was always available by email and returned calls pretty quickly. I... felt confident with his guidance and my divorce finished smoothly. I will definitely use him in the future, if needed, for prenuptials agreements.

Excellent lawyer

After trying to handle my alimony issue myself and losing, John Kay took it all the way to the appellate court and won. Very knowledgeable and personable Along with his excellent law firm and knowledgeable staff, I would not hire anyone else.

Hard working, very dependable

John helped me with my custody/child support order. He was there every step of the way. He explained everything to me to make sure I understood what everything meant and answered any questions I had. He was always a phone call away whenever I needed anything. Highly recommend!

If you want the best...

John is a very thorough and competent attorney who always had my best interests in mind. He kept me informed and was able to explain the legal matters involved to me in plain English, not legalese. I completely trusted and felt comfortable with John; which is not easy when revealing highly personal i...nformation about myself and my marriage. John understood my needs and I could tell that he truly listened by the way that he always worked to protect my interests and never pursued unreasonable demands. I always felt like I was in the very best hands. John was easily accessible and if he was not available to take my call, he always returned it promptly. What I especially liked about John was his ability to settle in the agreed-upon timeframe and not drag things out. John is truly an expert in Family Law and I owe him a debt of gratitude for his service.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I can't say enough good things about John Kay. I was on the opposite side of divorce cases from John over a number of years. When I was battling John in a case, I knew I had to be at my best. He is tough, thorough, relentless, creative, and very effective. I also found him to be someone you can trust, and that goes a long way with Judges. I recommend John highly for anyone needing a hard-nosed divorce attorney who will be attentive to client needs and treat them fairly."
