Biography
I am a trial lawyer and equity partner at Collins Law Group, P.C. in Naperville. My practice is devoted to catastrophic injury and wrongful death, with a focus on trucking and commercial vehicle crashes, brain and spine injuries, and medical malpractice. I have tried cases to verdict in Illinois and handled serious injury matters across the country.
I came to this work from the defense side. Before joining Collins Law Group, I defended multinational corporations and insurance carriers in multimillion dollar litigation. I sat in their strategy meetings. I know how they evaluate cases, how they delay, and what makes them pay. I left that work because I could not keep working against the people I wanted to help. Everything I learned from the defense now belongs to my clients.
My results for clients include:
- A seven-figure jury verdict in a wrongful death case
- A $1.6 million jury verdict for a client who suffered a spinal injury
- Numerous seven-figure settlements in trucking, commercial vehicle, and catastrophic injury cases

I was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national honor limited to the top trial advocates in each law school graduating class, and I am active in organizations that fight to keep the courthouse doors open for injured people, including the American Association for Justice, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.
I am also a first-generation lawyer. Nobody handed me this career, and I treat every client's case like it is the only one that matters, because to them, it is.
From our office in Naperville, I handle cases in Chicago, the suburbs, and throughout Illinois and the Midwest, and I serve as trial counsel for referring attorneys nationwide.

Got Me a Huge Settlement
I was t-boned by another car and suffered a serious concussion. John was able to get the insurance company to pay their full policy limits of $100,000 for my injuries. You can’t do better than John. So thankful to him!
