Joel seriously saved my life. I got my first DUI and immediately went with a public defender. She told me the best I would get is a one year license revocation, hundreds of hours of community service, and some ridiculous fine ($7,000, I think?). I brought up the fact that no one could prove I was in ...the drivers seat and reminded her that the state is obligated to prove I was driving beyond a reasonable doubt. She laughed at me and said they had all the proof they needed. I have three kids who depend on me and my license, I couldn't lose it. I knew I had a strong case, so I started searching for private council. My husband and I both talked to Joel and we agreed his confidence was everything, we both knew he was the guy. The first time I met him we were going over my file before court and he almost seemed excited to take my case. When he walked into the courtroom he had a confidence that immediately reassured me that he was indeed the right guy. I think his website says something along the lines of he demands respect for his clients, that is one hundred percent fact. The second I became Joel's client, every person in that courthouse suddenly talked to me with respect rather than the contempt I was used to. Anyways, we set the case for trial a couple months out and that was it. Fast forward a couple months and I get a call from Joel reminding me that trial was the next day. When I walked into the courtroom I was so nervous but Joel immediately said "ready for some good news?" then he walked me into the courtroom. We had to wait for someone else's trial to end, but during their recess the judge called my case. That immediately had me worried because trial's are lengthy, how were we gonna fit my trial into someone else's recess? When we got to the bench the state immediately said they were dismissing all charges because they couldn't meet the burden of proof required to convict. I was shocked. As I was walking out the states attorney looked down at me and said "you got yourself a good attorney" all I could do was smile. I am not kidding when I say Joel saved my life. If it wasn't for him, my families lives would have been complete chaos that revolved around something so icky and dark. Honestly, he could have charged me double what he did and it still would have been worth every penny to hear "all charges have been dismissed." I've been in enough courtrooms to know that Joel is a breed of his own. He genuinely loves the law, you can almost see the gears turning when he is working out a case. He's like the Sherlock Holmes of law. If you ever find yourself in a situation take this as your sign that he is definitely the guy. I've had attorneys "everyone recommends" but in reality they were subpar and overhyped. This is not the case. All you have to do is watch him work a courtroom and you'll see Joel's passion for the law come through.

My son had received an aggravated speeding citation and a neighbor recommended Joel to represent us in court. Joel was honest, professional, and extremely knowledgeable at every step throughout the process. As the case progressed, Joel explained that, while tedious, it was in our best interest to con...tinue the case and request a bench trial. At the bench trial, Joel was outstanding again in his negotiations with the county prosecutor and the charge against my son was COMPLETELY DROPPED. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised, as this was obviously much more positive of an outcome than we had expected. In short, I cannot recommend Joel enough as an attorney. Again, he is an outstanding lawyer, but more than that, an extraordinary person.

I hired Mr. Murphy in 03/2015 to represent my case. From the very start he and his staff made the entire process easy and explained everything completely. He worked with a payment plan for me, and also charged a flat fee, which included all court dates. We finally completed our defense in 12/2015 at ...which time we had actually had 4 or 5 appearances already. I was charged with a DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and paraphernalia and through knowledge and keen eye for discrepancy and error, he got every bit of it dismissed. He showed two different patrol cars videos in court of my arrest and went down an entire list of errors and inaccurate steps the police took during the arrest and sobriety test. He negated with proof every step the officer attempted to accuse me of failing. The few different judges we had all agreed, there was no probable cause for arrest, passed a motion to suppress evidence, and one even stated that this was the most flawed (on the officers part) sobriety test he had ever seen. Mr. Murphy found all these faults and proved them. Mr. Murphy was recommended to me by one of his previous clients, and I am so glad that they did. I would definitely recommend him to others. Don't ever think there is no hope for your situation, or that it is pointless to try, call and go in for a free consultation.
