Tiffany advises clients on issues encountered by local governments, including compliance with federal and state laws, ethics, Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act compliance, personnel issues, personnel manuals, and a variety of other issues. She also represents employers in workers’ compensation cases, grievance arbitrations, labor board hearings, wage and hour compliance, and unemployment proceedings. Tiffany has represented both candidates and objectors in election matters, has acted in an advisory capacity to local electoral boards, and has advised clients in the formation of campaign finance committees.
In addition to providing the above mentioned legal services to a number of governmental clients, Tiffany is an administrative law judge/adjudication hearing officer and a municipal prosecutor. As an adjudicator, Tiffany determines compliance and non-compliance with local ordinances and certain state laws. She also determines what fines or penalties will be assessed for violations of both local ordinances and state laws enforced by the local governmental entity. In her role as a prosecutor, Tiffany prosecutes Illinois Vehicle Code violations and liquor code complaints. Tiffany has also served as a student disciplinary hearing officer for local school districts.
In 2015, Tiffany was named an Emerging Lawyer by the Illinois Leading Lawyers Division of the Law Bulletin Publishing Company. This is a distinction earned by fewer than 2% of all Illinois licensed lawyers under the age of 40 in Illinois.
Tiffany also served as the chair of the Election Law Committee for the Chicago Bar Association in 2012-2013 and was the vice chair for the 2011-2012 bar year.
