Karen L. Delveaux

I had an awful experience with Karen. She seemed nice, experienced and what I thought was a tough attorney when I met her during the initial consultation. After 4 mos. into the divorce, I let her go. This was after I learned from another attorney that she should be filing a petition for maintenanc...e after my husband stopped paying for a number of items such as groceries, vet bills, gas, etc. I had to go back and inform her and she insisted she never knew, yet I told her up front he wasn't paying for these. She didn't appear in court on the day she was supposed to and gave me some flimsy excuse that she was trying to save me money. Then she charged me an hours time to research victims assistance information, of which she never provided to me and I never requested her to research it. I compared invoices with my husbands and every phone call between his attorney and mine she charged me more time for, yet it was the same phone call. I lost faith and was hesitant to hire another female attorney. Do your homework on attorneys before and research feedback from other clients. I got her name from a coworker, yet found very little on client feedback and testimonials other than one listed on this website. There are good attorneys out there that truly advocate for their clients and the law, I don't believe Karen is one of them. Karen wasted a great deal of my money.

Attorney Karen Delveaux is an excellent attorney and advocate. Her legal research and writing is top notch. She prepares for her court appearances and is therefore ready for whatever may come her way. Her ability to think on her feet sets her apart and heads and shoulders above her adversaries. S...he is bright, prepared, experienced, compassionate and when need be, persistent, strong and truly in your corner. As a fellow attorney, I know no greater testimonial than the referral of cases. I trust Karen Delveaux and believe she is truly one of the best as evidenced by the fact that I have referred matters to her including both family and friends on matters ranging from family/divorce/custody to real estate to personal injury. She consistently brings the highest level of integrity and legal skills to each and every matter she handles.

Karen was very helpful, very courteous, and extremely patient with me during my divorce. If I didn't understand something, she would take the time to explain everything to me. I specifically chose a woman lawyer to represent me, and Karen was consistently supportive during all the emotional ups and... downs I experienced during the divorce process. Completely understanding and patient with me! Thankfully my case wasn't all too difficult or complicated, but I can imagine Karen has the knowledge and experience to tackle even the most toughest legal issues. During the divorce process, I moved away to another part of the state. Karen and I kept in touch and communicated a lot via e-mail and texts, and she kept me well informed of important items I needed to address, court dates, as well as other issues that she was able to work on without my necessarily having to be physically present. She was eager to explore all avenues of dividing the marriage assets, and I am very happy that she worked hard on my behalf to make sure I was able to be awarded the portions of marriage assets to which I was legally entitled. Most definitely, Karen worked extremely hard on that! If you're looking for an attorney who is tough as nails to represent you, but still has tons of compassion and understanding to help you along during the emotional aspects of the divorce process, I would highly recommend Karen L. Delveaux.

Karen did a fantastic job with my case. She was professional, agressive, and completely in charge of the case and also the other attorney. She was very responsive and clear on the different directions I could take throughout the case.
