Paula Rieghns

I hired Paula for an adoption case for minors and an adult adoption. These cases are not easy. She was hired in the middle of the minor adoption case. She jumped right in & did MORE in the case in a few months than the prior attorney did in a year into the case. She is so diligent , knows the law and... truly cares for her clients. She made a statement that she wants all of her clients to feel like her only client and she shows this with her compassion and work she puts into your case. I can not recommend her enough!! She got the job done and did it well! Thoroughly explains the best and worst case scenarios. If you hire her she will fight for you and you will not be disappointed. I can not thank her enough for what she has done for our family!

Most men would be hesitant to hire a female attorney and I was told to avoid this. When I sought out a divorce attorney, a lawyer friend of mine from the McHenry County Bar Assoc. told me of an attorney who was outside the ordinary. He told me she was fair, reasonable and quite frankly; gifted, when ...it came to divorce and family law. My attorney friend has practiced in McHenry County for 30+ years and had no reservations as to his opinion of Paula. As most people do, I did an internet search and saw some of the negative reviews. I also saw newspaper articles about how her office was destroyed by arson. To tell you the truth, I honestly thought that anyone who was angry enough to torch an Attorney's office certainly felt they were on the wrong end of a judgment. It was quite telling as to her legal ability and her steadfastness when it came to those who would seek to bully her. When I contacted her office, I was surprised by the welcoming attitude of the staff and the swift response from Paula herself. She literally called me on her way back from the court house. Within 72 hours I had met with her and gone over the substance of my case and she assured me I would run into conflict, but that it would not incur any excessive fees or time. Paula was able to clearly spell out what to expect and what I could realistically expect of an outcome in my case. In the end, I would not have wanted any better attorney to lead me through one of the most difficult times. Paula was one of the most consummate professionals and was an individual that I would recommend to any one of my friends; especially male friends... I not only consider her my counselor, but my dear friend. Thank you so much Ms. Rieghns!!!

I retained this attorney for my child custody case. She did what she could until the GAL report came back not in our favor. She then advised me to send her a list of inconsistencies that we found in the GAL report. Once receiving this from me, she is withdrawing from my case, admitting that she la...cks the experience to help me. She also gave some very bad advice, advising me to go to DCFS for one of my concerns with the child's father, putting me in a deep hole with my case. She also failed to give me any guidance in regards to what the GAL looks for. On top of this, she completely failed to communicate that she would not be there for some of the court appearances, leaving me to drive over an hour to the courthouse for no reason. Beware of this attorney.
