DO NOT HIRE - I’m very disappointed in my experience with attorney Paula Rieghns. After working on my case for over two years and collecting significant fees, she abruptly withdrew just before trial without just cause. This left me in an extremely difficult position with little time to prepare or sec...ure new representation. I expected better communication, commitment, and professionalism—especially during such a critical time in my case.

Paula was very unprofessional in how she spoke with me and opposing counsel. She advised me to do things that would make my divorce take much longer than it needed to. Her number one goal was to make money. She even advised me not to try and see my own children, because it put me in a better financia...l position. She disregarded what I wanted as her client and bullied me into seeing things her way while I was going through the most stressful time in my life. I am glad I finally woke up and hired a lawyer that had my interests and my children's interests in mind.

Paula is one of the best attorneys I have ever known! She gets down to business and she knows how to conduct herself and take care of business. You want Atty Paula Rieghn's on your side! I can not state how grateful my husband and I are to have such a wonderful Attorney. She always gets back to us ri...ght away when we have a question. She basically holds your hands through everything but not afraid to tell you how it really is! I would hire her again and again and again if I needed an attorney. I have recommended her to many people and they are all very happy with Atty Paula Rieghns!

Most men would be hesitant to hire a female attorney and I was told to avoid this. When I sought out a divorce attorney, a lawyer friend of mine from the McHenry County Bar Assoc. told me of an attorney who was outside the ordinary. He told me she was fair, reasonable and quite frankly; gifted, when ...it came to divorce and family law. My attorney friend has practiced in McHenry County for 30+ years and had no reservations as to his opinion of Paula. As most people do, I did an internet search and saw some of the negative reviews. I also saw newspaper articles about how her office was destroyed by arson. To tell you the truth, I honestly thought that anyone who was angry enough to torch an Attorney's office certainly felt they were on the wrong end of a judgment. It was quite telling as to her legal ability and her steadfastness when it came to those who would seek to bully her. When I contacted her office, I was surprised by the welcoming attitude of the staff and the swift response from Paula herself. She literally called me on her way back from the court house. Within 72 hours I had met with her and gone over the substance of my case and she assured me I would run into conflict, but that it would not incur any excessive fees or time. Paula was able to clearly spell out what to expect and what I could realistically expect of an outcome in my case. In the end, I would not have wanted any better attorney to lead me through one of the most difficult times. Paula was one of the most consummate professionals and was an individual that I would recommend to any one of my friends; especially male friends... I not only consider her my counselor, but my dear friend. Thank you so much Ms. Rieghns!!!

I have been working with Paula for the past few years on a custody battle and removal case. She has been a huge relief for me during such a stressful time in my life. Paula is honest, supportive, efficient, and most importantly, reliable! I love that she's a straight shooter too, if she doesn't think... she can win or doesn't have a solid enough case, SHE WILL TELL YOU! As far as some of the previous reviews, they're completely false and I can not disagree more with what was said! Paula has a type A personality, is very intelligent, and is clearly passionate about her practice, which are GREAT qualities to have in a lawyer. I highly recommend her and am so happy to have had her by my side!
