Best lawyer at reasonable rate and dedicated to clients success

Mr Del Re recently successfully represented me in an order of protection hearing. (As a male the odds of one succeeding in this kind of case are about 20%). He did a great job through skillful questioning and cross examination. You have to trust him when he says he knows his business because he do...es. He runs a high volume practice, so his level of expertise regarding domestic violence, divorce and family law matters is one that few peers can match. I believe he is dedicated to his client, begins most workdays in his office by 5:30 AM. If you don't need handholding he would be my first choice. I'll use him again without hesitation.

Incompetent and dishonest

If I could give negative stars, i would. Originally the contingency of hiring DelRe was that he represent my case, not his associate Kat Allen. He assured me he would represent, which was a compete lie. The case has been ongoing for almost a year and thousands of dollars later, nothing has been accom...plished. David never once worked with us as he promised, he passed the case to his associate Kat. She does not understand the nuances of child support calculations and was completely at a loss when up against opposing counsel.

We are sorry you are unhappy with our representation of you in this matter. However, our office makes it clear both in our initial consultations and in our retainer agreements that we take a team approach and many times the associates at the firm do assist me with cases as it is practical, especially with clients who are sensitive to spending attorney’s fees because the associates bill at lower hourly rates. It also made sense in your case because Ms. Allen was the attorney who resolved your case the last time you were in court so she was most familiar with the facts of your case and the parties involved. Further, on one of the hearing dates, when I was unable to be present, we explicitly asked you if you wanted to continue to court date to a date when I could be present and you declined, wanting to get the case resolved sooner rather than later. Regarding your allegation that Ms. Allen does not understand the nuances of the child support calculations, that allegation is simply untrue. There are multiple ways to calculate support, especially when the calculations are for past-due support on additional income received over your base, and multiple programs that are commonly used in the family law arena. We kept you apprised of your potential liability at every stage in the litigation and constantly reset your expectations as the calculations evolved and as received more information about your tax deductions and other numbers that affect the overall numbers of your past-due support in discovery. The bottom-line is that you did not pay any support on your additional income for three years despite the very clear court orders requiring you to do so. Yes, it is true that if you do not comply with court orders requiring you to pay child support, you are going to owe money and, yes, if you do not have a good reason for not complying with court orders, you may have to pay attorney’s fees. We did everything we could to manage your expectations and limit your exposure and potential liability, but at the end of the day, we are attorneys, not miracle workers. We cannot go back in time and change the fact that you did not pay any child support on your significant additional income for three years. We are sorry that our representation ended on a negative note. If you wish to discuss any of the above in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

WARNING!

Four years for only a parenting agreement?!?! No divorce. No child support issues. Just a parenting agreement! He does not return calls/emails promptly. Total fees were over $10k, but no results! He fired me as a client without notice. Is that legal?! I hired another attorney who got it done in l...ess than six months and for about 1/10 of the cost! If you have no clout in Lake Co., RUN!

He should come with a NEW CLIENTS BEWARE

My story is the same as others. I paid him over $8000 dollars and he filed motions and never followed through. My ex broke 3 court orders and I was charged over $3000 for him to file motions that never came be. Now he filed a motion to withdraw 6 weeks before my trial. I have filed a complaint t...o the Illinois Bar Association--- I think if more people file complaints we can get these lawyers to be held to the high standards their rates reflect.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

Honestly this is by far the most pathetic representation available. At the initial consultation he seemed very confident and very straight forward. He did not seem to have any holes in his presentation. He charged me a very low fee, but honestly I would have rathered invested a little more pocket cha...nge and actually go with someone that was representing me correctly. My case was to modify visitation, and get unpaid child support. Well let me tell you David never showed up. He sent in his assistant Fianna I think her name was and at the end my exs lawyer was telling her how to fill out the paperwork. I was the one arguing with my exs lawyer and negotiating. She was pathetic! Just a WASTE of time and money. I will never recommend David Del Re to anyone. After I was sooo upset at the results I made it my goal to post reviews anywhere and everywhere of Mr. Del Re's pathetic representation as well as his helpless asisstant Fianna, so that no one would waste their time and look elsewhere. Oh and final results were that my ex who never picked up my son on visitation got more time and he was 2500.00 behind on child support got ordered to pay an additional 20.00 a week. This was a month ago. I have still yet to receive the first Child Support Check. Child support was put in place July 2012. Have not received a dime. Visitation my ex has picked him up 1 out of 10 times. DO NOT GO WITH DAVID DEL RE!!
