Not having an attorney, I needed one when my wife filed for divorce. A retired judge friend recommended Joel. After the first appointment Joel outlined the steps that would happen during the divorce process. I liked what I heard and saw. He was always keeping me in "loop" as what was happening. I l...iked how he operated. i.e.: with 35 years as a lawyer, when people speed up, I slow down. And when they slow down I speed up! Great way to operate. Joel is now my "forever attorney" for any thing that requires legal insight.

Joel was recommended to me by a mutual friend who happened to be a lawyer and a trusted friend. He and Joel had worked together years ago. Joel handled my side of a divorce representing me through not only the bureaucracy of Cook County but expected dealings of an opposing attorney. I found Joel t...o be focused, knowledgeable and organized. He made himself available when contacted and clearly communicated when and how he would follow-up. He attempted to communicate directly with the opposing attorney trying to avoid court proceedings and costs. This showed he was engaged. Although I had never planned to use him in the past and I have no plans to use him in the future I would recommend him. He even knows a few Lawyers jokes.

Joel was very helpful in my time of need. He was my second attorney after a disaster of a first one. Joel was very honest and up front with what I could and could not achieve in my court case. Although I wanted everything, he helped me get (what in the end) was the most important for myself and my... children. He was there every step of the way helping me understand, even the slightest things.
