Mr. McNerney has practiced law for more than thirty years.
He has extensive Criminal and Civil experience litigating a broad range of legal disputes.
Mr. McNerney was a partner in the law firm of Johnson and Bell, one of the finest litigation firms in the city of Chicago. Prior to joining Johnson and Bell, he was a supervisor in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office where he tried many cases as lead trial counsel, including high-profile and complex matters.
While practicing law full-time, Mr. McNerney served ten years as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law.
The Chicago Bar Association awarded Mr. McNerney its highest rating when it evaluated him and found that he was "Highly Qualified" for the Office of Associate Judge.
He was trained as an instructor in Trial Advocacy on the campus of the Harvard Law School and is a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He holds the highest rating awarded lawyers by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating Service.
