Life Saver

I was facing charges for my second DUI in four years. Todd gave me great advice along the way and explained things in an understandable way. He had my file heard before a judge at a settlement conference to increase the odds of a favorable outcome- and it worked. All parties had reached an agreement and I left the hearing very relieved. Todd could've dragged out the process and charged me more, but he got things done very quickly. He didn't charge me a dollar more than other attorneys would have, and he has more experience than the other attorneys I was considering. Five out of five.

Todd V. Peterson has been defending the rights of individuals charged with crimes for more than 24 years. He began his professional career in 1993 as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph E. Salland. In 1997, he moved to the St. Cloud area and opened his practice. Todd is a Minnesota State Bar Association Certified Criminal Law Specialist, a member of the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a member and past president of the Stearns/Benton County Bar Association, a member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He also has been an adjunct professor at St. Cloud State University.

Mr. Peterson holds a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law, where he was a member of the International Law Society. He has a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications from the University of Minnesota.

Expungement Case 4th Degree DWI

In 2019 I was ticked for a misdemeanor 4th Degree DWI in Kandiyohi County. This incident was due to my indiscretion. I was fortunate that no one was hurt, and no car accident occurred. At the time I was employed in the air transportation business holding a safety sensitive position. Todd negotiated with the court system to work out a light sentence with only a few probation restrictions. Once I was eligible to make application for an expungement I worked with Todd, and he represented me with the application and court case. Due to Todd’s knowledge, experience, and hands on understanding of this complex legal issue I was granted the Expungement. This positive outcome has enabled me to continue my chosen occupation. I must say that Todd is a strait forward attorney. He speaks to the facts of your case how the law relates to it. I was fortunate to have had Todd represent me. It is without hesitation or reluctance that I fully recommend Todd Peterson.

Great lawyer and very thorough

Todd Peterson is a great guy and cares for his clients. It definitely can be difficult sometimes to understand how the court works and runs with everything, but with Todd, he is extremely thorough on the process and will make sure all of your questions are answered and explained in detail and his absolute main goal is to make sure your trial is completely fair and give you the best outcome you can get. 100% recommend him to anyone who needs help.

Great criminal defense attorney

Todd helped me navigate dealing with a 9 year old DWI that came to haunt me and given I was out of state made it even more challenging. He always explained the entire process through the court system with me, indicating why we would take the steps that we did. Exceptional High Quality Effort

Excellant representation

I hired Todd to represent me on a traffic ticket that I felt was incorrectly issued. The ticket required a court appearance. Todd took the facts that I provided about the incident and negotiated with several different city attorneys that were revolved onto the case. He convinced each that the ticket was indeed not appropriate but they refused to make a decision to dismiss. Finally Todd recommended scheduling an actual trial date to put pressure on the prosecutor. Within a week the prosecutor dismissed the case. Todd was timely, clear in his instructions, professional, courteous, respectful of my time throughout the process. I highly recommend him.

Extremely Satisfied

I was being charged with a gross misdemeanor DWI. This was my first but since there were other aggravating factors, I was looking at a year in jail and a $3000 fine. Todd was very thorough and always made sure I understood everything and never made me feel like a nuisance any time I had a question. He really seemed to care about getting the best possible deal for me. The prosecutor was very adamant on making sure I served 30 days. Todd was able to get my charge lowered to a misdemeanor, no jail time and a $500 fine. I’ve heard this is pretty rare. I would recommend Todd to anyone! He works hard for you. Some of the best money ever spent.

Excellent DWI Lawyer

Todd was very thorough and explained all possible options to me in my case. Being nervous, as this was my first charge, I felt comfortable with Todd guiding me throughout the whole process, before and during court. I was satisfied with the results, avoiding jail time. Great Lawyer
