Didn't Defend Me as Promised---Arrogant, Aloof and Expensive

I hired Jason for $7,000 which he demanded be paid upfront. He led me to believe that he could help me easily beat a domestic assault charge. Exculpatory evidence against my accuser became available so I was subsequently offered a deal whereby a gross misdemeanor would be reduced to a misdemeanor... with a guarantee of no jail time. Jason told me not to take the deal if I wasn't guilty so over a year later I went through the trauma of a jury trial. During the trial he failed to bring up any of the defenses which we had previously discussed. We had one witness and rather than ask her open ended questions on the stand which may have helped my defense, he asked only a few yes/no questions. I can't prove it, but it almost seemed as though he had made a deal to "throw" this case in return for a favor in some other case. The prosecution hired two professional witnesses, whereas Jason refused to spend money on such....he told me if I wanted to hire professionals I could do so on my own. He seemed to rely solely on getting the accuser confused on the witness stand to the point where she might make contradictory or inconsistent statements. He didn't seem to put much time into my case other than appearing with me in court. I suspected early on that there might be a problem because whenever I met with him he never took notes and didn't seem to have a definite plan or strategy in mind even though I repeatedly asked. The jury found me guilty and I spent 6 months in jail. As a result, I lost a good paying job, my teenage kids grew distant and I acquired lots of debt. My accuser was a drug addict with mental illness (both well documented), but neither subject was brought up in court even though both issues were related to her accusations. Her own doctor gave her a U.A. when she went there after the alleged incident, but Jason never pursued that. If I had to do over again I definitely would not hire this attorney. He didn't do what he said he would do. His under-representation made a horrible situation even worse for me and my family.

Hire This Man!!

I am not all the way finished with my client/attorney business, however up to this point I have been surprisingly elated with Mr. Migala's conduct, attitude, knowledge of the law, charecter, among many other things. I am not an expert, but let us just say that I have had to have a few more lawyers in... my day than I would have liked, and he is by far the best. I would and will trust him with any legal business I have. It's ot easy to find an attorney with such moral these days. Hire him.
