Maxwell L. Boltinghouse is a young attorney dedicated to zealous representation and advocacy for clients in need.
Maxwell represents clients accused of crimes at all stages of litigation, from bond and pre-trial negotiation, jury trial, probation violation and revocation, to sentencing and reconsideration. He strives throughout the lifespan of his cases to communicate and coordinate with his clients, support staff, and to utilize all other possible resources at his disposal to achieve the best resolution and outcome for his clients.
Maxwell is a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he focused on Criminal Defense, Trial Advocacy, and had a passion individual rights. These skills were put to use while completing his degree as he worked with the Arapahoe County public defender’s office. While completing his degree Maxwell was also involved with a number of social advancement and advocacy organizations promoting legal assistance and education around Colorado.
Maxwell is presently an Attorney at Law with Stewart MacNichols and Harmell, in Kent Washington. In this position, he represents individuals as a court appointed public defender for the city of Kent. In addition to Maxwell's work as a public defender, he also works assisting individuals on a private basis for pending criminal matters. Maxwell is the Chief Supervising Defense Counsel for the Kent Municipal Court's Community Court and is also member of the Kent Municipal Court DUI Court Team. He has experience working in treatment courts and with individuals struggling from mental health, housing, and substance abuse issues.
Maxwell also works with indivduals attempting to clean up their criminal history and begin anew. He has experience vacating both felony and misdemeanor convictions as well as working to restore firearms rights for convicted indviduals. Maxwell understands the hinderances a criminal conviction can create and works to get his clients a fresh start through vacating those convictions and restoring rights where possible.
Maxwell is admitted to practice in the State of Washington, State of Colorado (Inactive), the US District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Maxwell understands the anxiety, frustration, and insecurity that accompanies any legal matter. He is committed to ensuring his clients feel supported and their interests protected through out the legal process.
