Katie is a good listener. And I thought I vetted and asked the right questions, but ultimately I do not feel I was advocated for. It seemed I was often passed off to her paralegal, who operated in an almost robotic way (void of emotion). This was my whole life on the table and most heart-wrenching...ly - my child's future. I realize the need for reasonable expectations, but I also needed just a touch more compassion and a sense that I was believed about the covert aspects of what I had endured and was enduring to result in a need for a divorce in the first place, and why these things mattered when it came to discussions around my young child. I do also see that it is the family court/law system that can tie the hands of a good family law attorney, but after many months, and many dollars, I simply feel that for reasons I can't determine I was not given the advocacy you hope to gain from hiring an attorney. I sought out Katie for a child custody dispute. Started my search online and emailed a few lawyers. She responded right away and we actually emailed back and forth FOR FREE for several days. Immediately upon meeting her for the free consultation, We knew we made the right choice. We were not inter...ested in "sticking it" to my granddaughter's father, but we were fighting for the rights of our granddaughter. Court is very scary and intimidating and we knew we needed good representation, as wanted what was best for the child. Katie has a gentle, yet firm approach with opposing counsel and she remained ethical at all times, even when we were so upset and wanting to "get em", she had the skill of calming us down and doing the right thing. Always keeping the child's best interest in forefront . Katie and her staff responded to questions and concerns immediately or as soon as possible. If she couldn't necessarily speak at that moment, she would send an email and let you know she could talk soon. So refreshing to not be left hanging during those emotional times. She would even respond to emails and work on a Sunday to get the job done in a timely matter. I cannot express enough the professionalism and restraint that Katie exhibits. You hear horror stories about lawyers that will do ANYTHING just to get your money. Not once did Katie stretch out the case or provide bad advice for pursuing the case just to make more money. Her rates are very fare and she is worth a million dollars. My granddaughter is safe and well cared for all thanks to Katie!
