Not the ally I needed

Liz did not provide the level of advocacy I needed during my divorce process. Her approach seemed more focused on maintaining neutrality and pleasing all parties involved, rather than assertively representing my interests and those of my children. Her responses to me were often delayed, even in urgen...t situations, and I frequently had to prompt her for next steps, resulting in numerous back-and-forth emails that incurred additional costs. While she is undoubtedly intelligent, her manner of communication could at times come across as rude, curt, and dismissive. She also showed leniency towards my ex-partner's missed deadlines, which significantly stalled the progress of my case for several months. Furthermore, I sensed a lack of engagement from her leading up to her departure from Best and Flanigan, which, in retrospect, explains much of the issues I experienced. Since changing to a new attorney, my case has quickly progressed forward with much clearer direction and timely action. For individuals dealing with high-conflict divorces, I would not recommend Liz as a representative.

I'm so sorry you didn't have a good experience. It is certainly difficult when outcomes and timelines don't match client expectations. Still, it is very important to me that each client knows how much I respect them and care about finding the best possible solutions for them and their children. I would have welcomed the opportunity to discuss these issues during the course of my representation so that I could have improved your experience. I hope you will contact me directly to discuss your specific concerns.

Recommendation for Elizabeth Hartwell

I worked with Elizabeth on cases for years as an opposing counsel. I found her to be smart, organized, persistent and a fine advocate for her clients. More importantly, to me anyway, is that she took the long view, especially in child custody cases, and worked hard to find long lasting solutions th...at benefitted the children. You won't go wrong hiring her for your family law matter. Listen to her advice- she knows what she is talking about.

Extremely pleased with the level of commitment & personal interest taken with my case!

Elizabeth is extremely knowledgeable. She takes the time to make sure things are done correctly. Very compassionate. I would recommend her to anyone looking to retain her services. She helped my family in ways I could never repay - "Thank You Liz!" I've known Elizabeth for many many years. She knows ...her stuff!! As long as I've known her she has always done for others... That's what makes her so good - commitment to good! The level of commitment with Elizabeth as your attorney - she will fight for you as if you are her family. Absolutely the best attorney & person I've had the pleasure of knowing. Again, "Thank You so much Liz - I cannot say it enough!
